What Is Happening — In Simple Words

This also means the admit card is not released all at once. SSC releases it in batches, roughly 2 to 3 days before each candidate’s own exam date. How to Download SSC CGL Tier 1 Admit Card 2026

Exam City Intimation Slip — Not the Same as the Admit Card

Before the admit card, SSC had already released an Exam City Intimation Slip. This only tells you the city where your exam will be held (and sometimes the date), so you could plan your travel early. It is not your admit card — the exact centre address, reporting time, and shift details are printed only on the admit card, which you must download separately.

Exam Timings

Your exact shift timing, reporting time, and gate opening/closing time will be printed on your own admit card. As a general reference, SSC CGL Tier 1 typically runs in three shifts a day:

• Shift 1 (Morning): around 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM (reporting around 7:30 AM)
• Shift 2 (Noon): around 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM (reporting around 11:00 AM)
• Shift 3 (Evening): around 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM (reporting around 2:30 PM)

Mandatory:

• Printed copy of the SSC CGL Admit Card 2026
• Original, valid photo ID proof
• A recent passport-size photograph
• Date of birth proof, if your photo ID does not already show your date of birth
