The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) has released Advertisement No. 05/2026 for Sweeper / Safai Karamchari and Chowkidar posts in the District and Sessions Courts, Delhi. The notification came on 9 October 2026 and online applications start on 13 October 2026. These are Group C posts and only Class 10 pass is needed. Read all details below in simple words.

5+2+1+1+1 = 10 and 7+4+2+1+1 = 15, so total is 25. No posts are shown for PwBD or Meritorious Sportspersons. Vacancies are tentative and can change. One site’s table adds up to 27 because it lists 2 ex-servicemen (ESM) seats as a separate line; the other sites show ESM inside the 25. Check the official PDF.

Educational Qualification

• Indian citizen
• Matriculation (Class 10) pass or equivalent from a recognised board, for both posts
• No work experience needed; no desirable qualification
• Qualification is checked as on 11 November 2026

Age Limit and Relaxation

18 to 27 years as on 1 June 2026 (born between 2 June 1999 and 1 June 2008).

• SC / ST: 5 years
• OBC (Delhi): 3 years
• PwBD with UR / EWS: 10 years
• PwBD with SC / ST: 15 years
• PwBD with OBC: 13 years
• Ex-servicemen: military service + 3 years, maximum age 55
• Government employees: no relaxation under DDC Rules, 2012

Application Fee

• General / OBC / EWS (men): ₹100
• Exempt: women, SC, ST, PwBD and eligible ex-servicemen
• Payment only through SBI e-Pay; fee is not refundable

Selection Process

1. Objective (MCQ) test — 100 marks
2. Interview — 15 marks, by the office of the Principal District & Sessions Judge (HQs); up to 10 times the vacancies may be called, no minimum marks
3. Final merit list based on test and interview marks

Exam Pattern

• Time: 120 minutes (160 minutes for PwBD candidates)
• Negative marking: 0.25 mark for each wrong answer
• Language: English and Hindi, except the English and Hindi sections
• Minimum qualifying marks: 50% for UR / EWS; 45% for OBC (Delhi), SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen

Salary

Pay scale ₹5,200 – ₹20,200 with Grade Pay ₹2,000 (Group C). Basic pay, DA, HRA, medical benefits and other allowances are admissible as per rules. Final salary depends on current rules, so see the notification.

How to Apply Online

1. Open dsssbonline.nic.in (DSSSB OARS portal).
2. Click “Click for New Registration” and enter valid mobile number, email and a scanned photo ID.
3. Log in with the user ID and password you receive.
4. Select post code 46/26 or 47/26 and fill the form.
5. Upload your recent colour photo and signature as per size rules.
6. Pay ₹100 via SBI e-Pay if the fee applies to you.
7. Submit before 11 November 2026, 11:00 PM.
8. Download and print the final application.

Only online applications are accepted. One registration and one application per post code. No changes after final submission. OBC Non-Creamy Layer certificate must be issued between 1 April 2026 and 11 November 2026.

Tips for Candidates (General Advice)
