What Is New in This Result?

This is the result of the first stage only, the preliminary (screening) test. According to a third-party page, marks of this test are not counted in the final merit list. It is only used to select candidates for the physical tests. The result sheet shows your name, application number, gender, date of birth, category, sub-category, marks obtained, qualifying status, and whether you are shortlisted for PMT and PET (Yes or No).

Please remember that being shortlisted is not final selection. You still have to pass PMT, PET, the final written exam and the interview.

How to Check Kolkata Police Constable Result 2026

1. Open the official website of the board: prb.wb.gov.in.
2. Click on “Recruitments” and then open the Kolkata Police Constable 2024 recruitment page.
3. Click on the link “Result of Preliminary Written Test”.
4. Enter your Application Serial Number, Date of Birth and your permanent District / State. Candidates from outside West Bengal should choose “Other State”.
5. Click Submit. Your result will appear on the screen.
6. Download the result and take a print. Keep it safe with your other documents.

Be careful: only use official websites. The reference page also gives a link to a private website for scorecard; do not enter your personal details on such sites. Use prb.wb.gov.in or wbpolice.gov.in.

How to Check Name in the Merit List PDF

1. Go to the recruitment page on prb.wb.gov.in.
2. Open the merit list for male candidates or the merit list for female candidates (both PDFs are listed on the page).
3. Press Ctrl + F on your computer or use the search option on your phone.
4. Type your application number and see if it is present.
5. If it is present, you are shortlisted for PMT and PET.

The board has linked a male list and a female list PDF on its site. Because these PDFs are large, they may open slowly in the first few hours.

1. Admit cards are available from 15 October 2026.
2. Open wbprb.applythrunet.co.in or use the link given on prb.wb.gov.in, wbpolice.gov.in or kolkatapolice.gov.in.
3. Log in with the details asked on the portal.
4. Download the admit card and take a clear print.
5. Check the venue, date and reporting time written on it.

A printed admit card is compulsory. Without it you cannot take part in the PMT and PET.

Warning From the Board

• Canvassing in any form during PMT and PET will cancel your candidature.
• Do not trust touts or agents who ask for money for selection. The recruitment is fully based on merit.
• Report such persons to the board or the police immediately.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Standards

Exam Pattern: Preliminary and Final Written Exam

Preliminary test (already held): 100 questions, 100 marks, 60 minutes. General Awareness 40, Elementary Mathematics 30, Reasoning 30. Third-party sources say each correct answer is +1 and each wrong answer is −0.25.

Final written exam (next): 85 questions, 85 marks, 60 minutes.

The date and marks of the interview are not stated in the sources I checked.

Salary and Benefits

As per the notification, basic pay is ₹23,700 per month. The monthly gross pay is about ₹26,605, which includes DA ₹681, HRA ₹2,724 and Medical Allowance ₹500. Other benefits are as per West Bengal Government rules. Figures may change with new orders.

Cut-off Marks

The sources I checked do not show any cut-off marks for this result, and the reference page does not give them either. How to Prepare for PMT and PET in 2 Weeks (General Advice)

• Start running every morning. Male candidates should practise 1600 m and aim for under 6 minutes so there is a safety margin.
• Female candidates should practise 800 m and aim for under 3 minutes 45 seconds.
• Do light warm-up and stretching before each run to avoid injury.
• Eat a simple, healthy diet with enough water, and sleep for 7–8 hours.
• Do not take any medicine or supplement to increase weight or height; this can cause problems at the medical check.
• Check your height, weight and chest at home so you know where you stand.
• Keep all original documents and photocopies ready: admit card, ID proof, certificates and category proof.
• Reach the venue early, wear light sports clothes and shoes, and follow all instructions of the officers.
• Meanwhile, continue to revise for the final written exam: GK, maths, reasoning and English.
