Local Language Test (Very Important)

You must know one local language of the State or UT you choose, including reading, writing, speaking and understanding. The test is held at document verification, and if you fail it, you will not be engaged. You are exempt if your 10th or 12th mark sheet shows that you studied that local language. So choose your State carefully.

30-Day Preparation Plan (General Advice)

  1. Days 1 to 7: Learn the exam pattern and finish basic topics: percentage, ratio, averages, series and grammar rules.
  2. Days 8 to 15: Practise topic-wise sets for each section and note your weak topics.
  3. Days 16 to 22: Read banking and economy news of 6 months; revise static GK and computer basics.
  4. Days 23 to 28: Take full mock tests of 60 minutes and check your time per section.
  5. Days 29 to 30: Light revision only, formulas, short notes and good sleep.

Aim to finish each mock test with at least 40 marks and slowly move higher. The cut-off was 40 for general category.

Exam Day Tips

  • Carry your admit card and a valid photo ID; check the reporting time on the call letter.
  • Do the easy questions first and skip the lengthy ones.
  • Do not spend more than a minute on one question.
  • Keep a calm mind; do not guess blindly if there is negative marking, since the notice does not clearly mention it.
  • Reach the centre early and carry only allowed items.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Applying to a State whose local language you do not know.
  • Missing the last date of 29 October 2026.
  • Believing that all topics listed on third-party sites are official.
  • Giving all time to one section and leaving others untouched.
  • Ignoring computer and general awareness questions, which are easy marks.

  • Photo ID and address proof
  • Recent photograph and signature in the size asked
  • Active mobile number and email ID

  • English: read the passage quickly, then solve grammar questions first because they take little time.
  • Reasoning: solve series, coding-decoding and blood relations first; leave long puzzles for last.

  • Awareness: revise one page of current affairs every day and keep short notes of banking terms.
  • Computer: learn basic terms and shortcut keys; this takes only a few days.
