Rajasthan Patwari Syllabus 2026 in Simple Words

A Patwari is the village-level revenue officer who keeps land records. To select Patwaris, the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board holds one written exam. It has 150 multiple-choice questions, and each question carries 2 marks. So the paper is for 300 marks, and you have 3 hours.

The syllabus is wide but simple. It has General Knowledge of Rajasthan, India GK with General Science, Hindi, English, Reasoning, basic Maths and basic Computer. The biggest block is Reasoning and Maths, with 45 questions, so a student who is good at it has an advantage.

The topics here are taken from the syllabus information available. For the India GK and General Science block, the source does not give a detailed list, so we add the topic areas reported by other education websites and mark them clearly. Please check the official syllabus PDF once the notification is out.

Rajasthan Patwari Exam Pattern 2026 – Subject-Wise Questions, Marks and Weightage

Subject Questions Marks Share of Marks
General Science; History, Politics and Geography of India; General Knowledge and Current Affairs 38 76 25.3%
Geography, History, Culture and Politics of Rajasthan 30 60 20.0%
General English and Hindi 22 44 14.7%
Mental Ability and Reasoning, Basic Numerical Efficiency 45 90 30.0%
General Computer 15 30 10.0%
TOTAL 150 300 100%
  • Mental Ability, Reasoning and Basic Numerical Efficiency carry the highest share: 30% of the marks.
  • India GK and General Science carry about 25.3%, and Rajasthan GK carries 20%.
  • Hindi and English together carry about 14.7%, and Computer carries 10%.
  • The share column and the points above are our simple calculations.
Particulars Details
Total duration 3 hours (180 minutes)
Marks per correct answer 2
Negative marking 1/3 deduction for each wrong answer
Exam mode Offline, OMR sheet
Qualifying marks by category Not specified in the source

Negative Marking – How Much Is Deducted?

Reports say that 1/3 is deducted for each wrong answer. They do not say clearly whether it means 1/3 of one mark (0.33) or 1/3 of the 2 marks of the question (about 0.67). Rajasthan exams commonly deduct one-third of the marks of the question, but please read the notice. The table shows both ways so that you can see the difference.

Correct Wrong Unattempted Score if 0.33 per wrong Score if 0.67 per wrong
100 40 10 186.67 173.33
120 20 10 233.33 226.67
90 50 10 163.33 146.67
130 10 10 256.67 253.33
80 60 10 140.00 120.00
  • Because each wrong answer costs marks, guess only when you can cut at least two of the five options.
  • With five options, a blind guess has only a 20% chance to be right.
  • These scores are our calculations for understanding. They are not cutoffs.

OMR Sheet Instructions

  • Each question has five options: A, B, C, D and E.
  • Mark only one option for each question.
  • Use a blue ball pen and fill the circle completely.
  • After the stipulated time, candidates get 10 extra minutes to check that a circle is filled for every question.
  • Do not make stray marks on the OMR sheet.
  • Your time per question is about 1.2 minutes (180 minutes divided by 150 questions, our calculation).

  • India GK and General Science (76 marks): Build basics from school books, and add current affairs every week.
  • Rajasthan GK (60 marks): Use the topic list as a checklist. Rajasthan questions are often straight facts, so revision and short notes work very well.
  • Hindi and English (44 marks): Practise grammar and idioms every day. These are quick marks.
  • Computer (30 marks): The topics are few and easy to finish. Do not skip this section.
  • Plan to attempt the sections you are strongest in first, and leave the doubtful questions for later.
