Preparation Strategy – Simple Plan

  • Step 1: Read the official syllabus of your post from the notification.
  • Step 2: Spend about half of your time on Professional Ability, because it has 50 marks.
  • Step 3: Revise Class 10 maths and science from NCERT. Practise reasoning every day.
  • Step 4: Read current affairs daily and revise static GK weekly.
  • Step 5: Take timed mock tests of 90 minutes. Use the 1/3 negative marking rule in practice.
  • Step 6: Review every mistake and keep a short notebook of weak topics.
  • Step 7: For Junior Translator (Hindi), practise translation and grammar from the start.

How to Manage Negative Marking

Each wrong answer cuts 1/3 mark. So three wrong answers cost you one full mark. If you can remove two options with confidence, a guess is fair. If you have no idea, leave the question. Do not fill answers blindly in the last minutes.

How to Apply – Short Steps

  • Open the official RRB application portal: rrbapply.gov.in.
  • Register and log in. Keep your Aadhaar, email and mobile number ready.
  • Select only one RRB and fill the form for your post.
  • Upload the photo, signature and documents as asked.
  • Pay the fee by 6 December 2026 and submit before 4 December 2026, 11:59 PM.
  • Use the correction window (7 to 16 December 2026) if needed, then print the form.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Skipping Professional Ability and studying only general topics.
  • Ignoring the negative marking rule.
  • Applying to more than one RRB.
  • Not checking post-wise age and qualification in the official PDF.
  • Applying on the last day when the portal is slow.
  • Trusting unofficial syllabus PDFs without checking the notification.
