Total Duration 2 Hours (120 minutes)
Time per Section About 40 minutes each, and you cannot go back after time ends (as in recent years)

Last 3 Weeks Strategy — Simple Plan

  • Week 1: Take the official mock + 2 full mocks. Note weak sections
  • Week 2: Fix weak topics. Practise one RC set and one DILR set daily
  • Week 3: Take 1 mock every 2 days and review each one for 2 hours
  • Last 3 days: Revise formulas and shortcuts. Do not start new topics
  • Practise time limit per section (40 minutes) in every mock
  • Sleep on time and eat light on exam day

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Believing fake news that the admit card is out before 6 November
  • Forgetting User ID or password
  • Not printing the admit card or carrying wrong photo ID
  • Not checking the slot, centre and reporting time
  • Reaching the centre late
  • Skipping the official mock test
  • Carrying a phone, watch or calculator to the centre

After the Exam — What Next?

  • The response sheet and answer key are usually released a few days after the exam on iimcat.ac.in
  • CAT scorecard and percentile come out in the following weeks (in past years, early in the next year)
  • Then IIMs and other institutes call shortlisted candidates for WAT / PI and other selection steps
Note: These dates are not announced yet. Follow iimcat.ac.in for official dates.
