Mains Syllabus: What to Read (General Guide)

  • Paper I: social and cultural history of Andhra Pradesh and the overview of the Indian Constitution
  • Paper II: Indian economy and the AP economy, and science and technology
  • Use standard books and the state government’s reports and budgets for AP topics

These are the broad areas as per the brief notification. The detailed syllabus is given in the official notification.

How to Apply Online

  1. Open the official website psc.ap.gov.in.
  2. Find Notification No. 37/2026 for Group-II Services and read the detailed notification once it is published.
  3. Log in with your OTPR number, or do One Time Profile Registration if you are new.
  4. Fill your personal and educational details and choose the posts you are eligible for.
  5. Upload documents as asked and pay the fee online.
  6. Submit before 30 November 2026, 11:59 PM and keep a copy of the application.

Only online applications are accepted. The OTPR steps are general and common for APPSC exams.

Documents to Keep Ready

  • OTPR profile details
  • Degree certificate and mark sheets
  • Computer certificate, if you apply for accountant posts
  • Study and residence certificates for Andhra Pradesh
  • Category certificate (SC, ST, BC, EWS) and PwBD certificate if applicable
  • Recent photograph and signature in the size asked
  • Aadhaar and other ID proof

60-Day Preparation Plan (General Advice)

  1. Days 1 to 10: Learn the exam pattern and read the AP history and Indian Constitution basics.
  2. Days 11 to 25: Cover Indian and AP economy, plus geography and society.
  3. Days 26 to 40: Study science and technology and current affairs of the last 12 months.
  4. Days 41 to 55: Practise mental ability and take full mock tests of 150 questions in 150 minutes.
  5. Days 56 to 60: Revise, check your weak topics and keep your mind calm.

Because of one-third negative marking, avoid blind guessing. Attempt a question only when you can remove at least one or two options.

Tips for Computer Proficiency Test (General Advice)

  • Practise MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint every day.
  • Learn typing and keyboard shortcuts.
  • Know basic internet and email tasks.
  • CPT is a practical test of 60 minutes, so speed and accuracy both matter.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Applying before reading the detailed notification.
  • Missing the last date of 30 November 2026.
  • Believing unofficial pages for age and fee; wait for the official PDF.
  • Ignoring the CPT because it is only qualifying.
  • Not keeping OTPR, certificates and photo ready in advance.

Brief Notification vs Detailed Notification (Simple Explanation)

A brief notification is a short notice that tells you the posts, vacancies and main dates. The detailed notification is the full document. It has the age limit, fee, reservation rules, syllabus, physical standards and the exact steps to apply. For this recruitment, only the brief notification is out. The detailed one is due on or before 10 November 2026. So it is a good time to prepare, but do not rush to apply until the full notice is published.

Age and qualification are also counted on the date of the detailed notification, as per the brief notice.

What to Do Before 10 November (General Advice)

  • Complete your OTPR profile on psc.ap.gov.in now, so you do not waste time later.
  • Keep your degree, caste, study and residence certificates ready and check that the names and dates are correct in all of them.
  • If you plan to apply for accountant posts, check that you hold the needed computer certificate or degree.
  • Start reading the syllabus areas listed above and note your weak topics.
  • Join only official channels for updates. Check psc.ap.gov.in regularly.

Posts in Short (General Information)

Post Type of Work (General)
Deputy Tahsildar Revenue administration at the mandal level, land records and certificates
Deputy MPDO Rural development work in mandal parishads
GST Officer Tax collection and checking under GST
Sub-Registrar Property registration and related records

Prohibition & Excise Sub-Inspector Enforcement work for excise rules
Senior / Junior Accountant Accounts work in treasuries and accounts

This table gives general information about the type of work, not from the notification. Duties are described in the service rules of each post.

Which Posts Should You Choose? (General Advice)

  • Choose posts only after reading the qualification of each post carefully.
  • If you are strong in maths and commerce, accountant and ASO (Finance) posts can suit you.
  • If you have a law degree, check Sub-Registrar and ASO (Law).
  • Compare the pay scales in the table, but also think about the work and the place of posting.
  • You can apply for more than one post if you are eligible, as the form asks for post selection.

The exact rule on choosing multiple posts will be in the detailed notification.

Exam Day Tips (General Advice)

  • Carry the hall ticket and a valid photo ID; read all the instructions on the hall ticket.
  • The screening test is OMR based, so use a blue or black ballpoint pen as told and fill the circle fully.
  • Do not make marks outside the circle and do not fold the OMR sheet.
  • Manage time: about one minute per question in the screening test.
  • Reach the centre early and carry only allowed items.
