Important: Do Not Confuse This Result With the 2024 Recruitment

Many candidates get confused because two Miscellaneous recruitments are running in West Bengal. Please read carefully:

  • This result (14 October 2026) is for Advt. No. 11/2023 — the Written (Final) Examination. These candidates are now called for interview.
  • The Miscellaneous Services Recruitment (Preliminary) Examination, 2024 is a different recruitment cycle. As per media reports, its Prelims was scheduled on 4 October 2026. Its result is not the one released today.
  • Before you check any PDF, always confirm the Advt. No. and the Notice No. 387 PSC/Con. on top of the document.

WBPSC Miscellaneous Cut Off 2026 (Written Exam, out of 450)

Category Cut Off Marks (out of 450) | Approx. Percentage
UR (Unreserved) 237 | 52.7%
OBC 222 | 49.3%
EWS 202 | 44.9%
MSP (Meritorious Sports Person) 201 | 44.7%
SC 188 | 41.8%
ST 182 | 40.4%
PwBD (UR) 135 | 30.0%
PwBD (SC) 118 | 26.2%
Note: Highest cut off is 237 (UR) and the lowest is 118 (PwBD-SC). Percentages are our own simple calculation (marks ÷ 450) to help you compare. They are not given in the official PDF.

Simple Cut Off Analysis — What Do These Numbers Tell You?

  • The gap between UR (237) and OBC (222) is only 15 marks, while the gap between UR and ST (182) is 55 marks.
  • EWS (202) and MSP (201) cut offs are almost the same — only 1 mark apart.
  • Cut off is about 40% to 53% for the main categories (UR, OBC, EWS, MSP, SC, ST). This shows that the descriptive written exam is a tough exam where marks are not very high.
  • Cut off marks are only for being called to the interview. Your final rank will be decided by Written Exam + Personality Test marks.
  • If your marks are a little below the cut off, you are not in the list. WBPSC does not accept re-checking requests as a general rule, so please read the official notice for any special instruction.

What Does ‘STD’ Mean in the WBPSC Miscellaneous Result PDF?

In the result PDF there is a column called “Standard” (STD). It tells whether you used any relaxation in the Prelims or the Written test. This decides which vacancies you can be considered for. Please read your STD carefully.

STD Meaning in Simple Words
UR No relaxation was used in Prelims or Written test. You can be considered for unreserved vacancies and also for reserved vacancies of your category.
R Reserved category candidate who used relaxation. You can be considered for reserved vacancies of your own category only.
R_EWS EWS candidate who used relaxation. You can be considered for EWS vacancies only.
R_MSP Meritorious Sports Person who used relaxation. You can be considered for MSP vacancies only.
R_PwBD_UR PwBD candidate who used relaxation. You can be considered for PwBD vacancies only.
R_PwBD_SC PwBD candidate of SC category who used relaxation. You can be considered for PwBD (SC) vacancies only.
R+R_MSP Reserved category MSP candidate. You can be considered for both reserved and MSP vacancies.
R+R_PwBD_UR Reserved category PwBD candidate. You can be considered for both reserved and PwBD vacancies.
Note: ‘UR’ STD does not mean you belong to the General category. It means you did not use any relaxation, so a reserved category candidate with ‘UR’ STD has a wider chance.
