If Login or Download Does Not Work

- Helpdesk contact listed for STET: bseb.support@cbrt.co.in and +91 80472 82787
What to Check on Your Admit Card — 8-Point Checklist
| Check This | Why It Matters |
| Name, photograph and signature | A wrong photo or name can cause entry problems at the centre |
| Paper (I or II) and subject | You must appear in the paper and subject you applied for |
| Exam date and shift | Different candidates get different dates and shifts within the window |
| Reporting time | Late entry is not allowed in CBT exams |
| Exam city and centre address | Should match the city choices of your application |
| Category | Qualifying marks depend on your category |
| Instructions and barred items list | Follow the list printed on your card |
| Candidate details such as date of birth | Spelling and date mistakes must be reported early |
If anything is wrong, report it through the Helpdesk link on the portal immediately and carry supporting proof to the centre. Dummy admit cards were given earlier only for checking and correction of details, so the final card is the only one valid for entry.
Exam Day Rules and What to Carry
- Carry: printed admit card and one original government photo ID. IDs usually accepted in such exams are Aadhaar, Voter ID, Driving Licence, Passport or PAN
- Reach early: reporting is usually 60 to 90 minutes before the shift, and late entry is barred
- Do not carry: mobile phone, smartwatch, Bluetooth device, calculator, books, notes, metal ornaments or camera. Follow the list printed on your admit card
- Do a dry run: check the travel time to the centre a day before, because centres can be in a different district from your home
Last year (2025) centres were set up in Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Bhagalpur, Munger, Purnia, Saharsa and Bhojpur. Candidates who live far from these cities should book travel and a place to stay as soon as the admit card shows the centre.
Bihar STET 2026 Exam Pattern
| Section | Questions | Marks |
| Specified Subject Content | 100 | 100 |
| Teaching Art and Other Competencies | 50 | 50 |
| Total | 150 | 150 |
| Duration | 150 Minutes (2 hours 30 minutes) | — |
| Negative Marking | None | — |
You get exactly 1 minute for every question. The subject section carries two thirds of the marks. Since there is no negative marking, leaving a question blank gives no benefit, so attempt all 150.
Papers and Subjects
- Paper I (Classes 9–10), 16 subjects: Hindi, Urdu, Bangla, Maithili, Sanskrit, Arabic, Persian, Bhojpuri, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Physical Education, Music, Fine Arts and Dance
- Paper II (Classes 11–12), 29 subjects: Hindi, Urdu, English, Sanskrit, Bangla, Maithili, Magahi, Arabic, Persian, Bhojpuri, Pali, Prakrit, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, History, Geography, Political Science, Sociology, Economics, Philosophy, Psychology, Home Science, Commerce, Computer Science, Agriculture and Music
Qualifying Marks and Normalisation
| Category | Qualifying Percentage | Marks Needed Out of 150 |
| General | 50% | 75 |
| Backward Class (BC) | 45.5% | 68.25 |
| Extremely Backward Class (EBC) | 42.5% | 63.75 |
| SC / ST / Divyang / Women | 40% | 60 |
A General category candidate needs 15 marks more than an SC/ST or woman candidate and 11.25 marks more than an EBC candidate. Apply the percentage on the final normalised score and not on your raw score.
Because the exam runs in many shifts, BSEB uses normalisation. Your raw marks are adjusted so that shifts with easier and tougher papers become comparable. As explained in the notification, a General category candidate with 76 raw marks whose normalised score becomes 74.90 does not qualify, because the pass mark is 75. So aim for a safety margin of at least 5 to 8 marks above the line.
- The STET qualifying certificate is valid for a lifetime, as per the notification
- Passing STET does not give a job. It makes you eligible to apply when the Bihar education department announces teacher recruitment
Who Could Apply — Age Limit as on 1 August 2026
| Category | Minimum Age | Maximum Age |
| Unreserved Male | 21 Years | 37 Years |
| Unreserved Female / BC / EBC | 21 Years | 40 Years |
| SC / ST | 21 Years | 42 Years |
Paper I needs a bachelor degree in the subject with at least 50% marks and a B.Ed. Paper II needs a master degree in the subject with at least 50% marks and a B.Ed. For Computer Science, B.Ed is not compulsory. Candidates living outside Bihar were treated as General category for age, qualification and fee.
Teaching Art and Other Competencies — 50 Marks You Should Not Skip
One third of the paper comes from this section, and it is the same type of content for every subject. A candidate who is strong in this section starts the exam with a 50-mark advantage that does not depend on the subject paper. Prepare these areas:
- Child development and learning: how children grow, learn and think at the secondary and higher secondary stage
- Teaching methods and classroom management: lesson planning, questioning, motivation and discipline
- Assessment and evaluation: tests, feedback and ways to find learning gaps
- Inclusive education: teaching children with different needs and backgrounds
- General awareness for teachers: education system, school rules and current issues in education
- Language and reasoning skills: reading comprehension and basic logical questions
If you score about 35 out of 50 here, a General category candidate then needs only about 40 out of 100 in the subject section to reach 75. The same 35 marks lets an SC/ST or woman candidate pass with just 25 subject marks. Use this to plan your time.
How to Handle the Computer Based Test
- First 5 minutes: read the instructions on the screen and check that the keyboard, mouse and screen work. Tell the invigilator at once if something is wrong
- Pace: aim for about 40 seconds on easy questions so that you have time for the tough ones
- Mark and return: if you are not sure, mark the question for review and move on
- Attempt everything: there is no negative marking, so guess the remaining questions in the last 10 minutes
- Stay calm on technical faults: do not leave the seat, raise your hand and let the staff handle it
7-Day Plan for 18 to 24 October 2026
| Day | Plan |
| 18 October | Download and print the admit card, check all details, and note the exam date and shift |
| 19 October | Check the exam centre route and travel time. Arrange ID, pen and a small bag |
| 20 October | Revise the first half of your subject syllabus and solve 50 subject questions |
| 21 October | Revise the second half of your subject syllabus and solve 50 more subject questions |
| 22 October | Teaching art and general competencies: child psychology, teaching methods, learning and assessment |
| 23 October | Full 150 question mock test in 150 minutes, then check weak areas |
| 24 October | Light revision of short notes. Sleep early and keep all documents in one folder |
If your exam falls later in the window, use the extra days for two more full mock tests. In a mock test, spend about 100 minutes on the 100 subject questions and about 40 minutes on the 50 teaching questions, and keep the last 10 minutes for review.
Mistakes That Can Cost You the Exam
- Waiting till the last day to download the card, when the portal is slow
- Trusting a dummy admit card or a third-party website instead of the final card from the official portal
- Carrying a photocopy of ID instead of the original
- Reaching the centre at the last minute
- Ignoring the shift time on your card and following a friend’s shift
