Preparation Tips for the CWC Online Test
|
- Know your paper: Assistant Manager (General) and Junior Executive (General) have no subject test, so general sections decide the result. Technical, Finance, Engineering and JE Technical papers have a subject test, so give it the most time.
- Clear every cut-off: You need 40% (UR) or 35% (reserved) in the subject test and in the descriptive test. A very good score in other sections cannot save you if you miss these.
- Do not ignore the descriptive test: It carries 30 marks and has its own qualifying marks. Practise writing in English in a limited time (30 minutes for 2 questions). Keep sentences short and correct.
- Manage time per test: Each test is timed separately, so you cannot carry time from one test to another. Practise sectional mock tests.
- Watch negative marking: 1/4 mark is cut for each wrong answer. Attempt only the questions you are reasonably sure about.
- General sections: Practise reasoning, computer aptitude basics (MS Office, internet, hardware and software), data interpretation, arithmetic, English grammar and comprehension, and current affairs.
- Know CWC: Read about warehousing, scientific storage of grains, CFS/ICD, logistics and the role of CWC. It helps in the General Awareness test and in the interview.
- Interview (Assistant Manager): Be ready with your subject basics, your project/work, and why you want to join CWC. Interview is out of 30 marks and has qualifying marks.
- Take full-length mock tests of 3 hours to build stamina and speed.
