Quick Summary: What Is the Latest Update Today?

Indian Oil Corporation Limited has released the IOCL Executive CBT Result 2026 on 16 October 2026. The computer based test was held on 24 September 2026 for 470 Executive posts. The result is given in the form of a scorecard. You can see your name, roll number, marks and qualifying status on it.

How to Check IOCL Executive Result 2026 — Step by Step

  1. Go to the official IOCL website: www.iocl.com.
  2. On the home page, click the Latest / Latest Job Opening section.
  3. Open the link: Recruitment of Executives in Indian Oil Corporation Limited through CBT – 2026.
  4. Click the link: View the scorecard of the CBT for Recruitment of Executives [16/10/2026].
  5. Enter your Registration No. / Roll No. and your Password / Date of Birth.
  6. Type the captcha code shown on the screen and click Login.
  7. Your scorecard will open. Download it and save a PDF copy for later use.

Tip: If the page is slow, do not keep refreshing again and again. Wait a few minutes and try once more. Many candidates open the site at the same time on result day.

Problem with login? Check your registration number and date of birth carefully. If the issue stays, use the grievance link given in the notification: cgrs.ibps.in.

What Is Written on Your IOCL Scorecard?

  • Candidate name and Registration / Roll number
  • Post or discipline you applied for
  • Marks scored in the CBT (and section-wise marks, where shown)
  • Qualifying status (Qualified / Not Qualified)
  • Other exam details

Check carefully: Match your name, category and discipline with your application form. If something looks wrong, contact IOCL through the official grievance link as soon as possible.

How Are Your CBT Marks Calculated?

Each correct answer gives 1 mark. Each wrong answer takes away 0.25 mark. Unattempted questions get zero.

Formula: Total Score = (Correct Answers × 1) − (Wrong Answers × 0.25)

Example: If you have 72 correct and 12 wrong answers, your score = 72 − (12 × 0.25) = 72 − 3 = 69 marks.

Note: If the exam is held in more than one session, IOCL equates (normalises) the scores. In that case, normalised marks are used for result and shortlisting.

IOCL CBT Exam Pattern 2026 (Quick Revision)

Section Subject Questions Time
A Quantitative Aptitude 20 60 minutes (for all of Section A)
A Logical Reasoning 15 —
A Verbal Ability of English Language 15 —
B Domain Knowledge (your discipline) 50 90 minutes
Total 100 MCQs | 100 Marks 100 150 minutes
  • Negative marking: 0.25 mark for every wrong answer.
  • Section order is fixed: Section A first, then Section B.
  • Candidates who use a scribe get extra time (80 minutes for Section A and 120 minutes for Section B).

CBT Qualifying Marks — Category Wise

Category Section A (minimum) Section B (minimum) Overall (minimum)
General / EWS / OBC (NCL) 40% 40% 45%
SC / ST 35% 35% 40%
PwBD 25% 25% 30%

Simple way to understand: Qualifying marks are the minimum marks you must have to pass. Cut-off marks are the marks needed to be shortlisted for the next stage. The cut-off is usually higher than the qualifying marks, because there are only limited seats in each discipline.

What Happens After the CBT Result? — Selection Stages Explained

  • Stage 1 — CBT (85% weightage): Done. Your marks decide whether you are shortlisted.
  • Stage 2 — Group Discussion (GD) and Group Task (GT) (5% weightage): Held for shortlisted candidates. You need at least 40% marks.
  • Stage 3 — Personal Interview (PI) (10% weightage): Final stage. You need at least 40% marks.
  • Document Verification: Done before GD, GT and PI. Originals are checked.
  • Pre-Employment Medical Examination (PEME): Joining depends on meeting the physical fitness rules.
Component Weightage Minimum Marks
CBT 85% As per qualifying marks table above
GD & GT 5% 40%
Personal Interview 10% 40%
Composite Score (Final Merit) 100% General/EWS/OBC(NCL): 45% | SC/ST: 40% | PwBD: 30%

Simple example (for understanding only, not real data): Suppose a candidate gets 70% in CBT, 60% in GD/GT and 65% in PI. Final score = (70 × 0.85) + (60 × 0.05) + (65 × 0.10) = 59.5 + 3.0 + 6.5 = 69.0. This is above the 45% composite minimum, so the candidate stays in the merit list.

Since the CBT carries 85% weight, a good CBT score already gives a strong base. But GD/GT and PI still matter, because you must pass each stage on its own.

Documents to Keep Ready for GD, GT & Interview

Original documents are checked before GD, GT and PI. Missing documents can stop you from going ahead.

  • Printed copy of your online application form and e-receipt
  • CBT admit card and CBT scorecard
  • Original photo ID proof (PAN, Passport, Driving Licence, Voter ID, Aadhaar etc.) plus a photocopy. Ration card and learner’s licence are not valid.
  • Class 10 / Matriculation certificate. This is the only accepted proof of date of birth.
  • Degree / Diploma certificate and all semester marksheets. Final degree or marksheet must be available by 30 September 2026.
  • CGPA to percentage conversion certificate from your college/university (or a certificate that your institute has no conversion formula)
  • Category certificate in the latest government format: SC/ST, OBC (NCL) issued on or after 01.04.2026, EWS issued on or after 01.04.2026 (valid for FY 2026-27)
  • PwBD certificate and UDID card (if applicable)
  • Experience certificates on company letterhead (for Law Officer and Assistant Quality Control Officer)
  • Bar Council registration certificate in original (for Law candidates claiming advocate or law-firm experience)
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) if you are working in a Government department or PSU
  • OBC (NCL) candidates: a self-undertaking that you belong to the Non-Creamy Layer
  • Maharashtra SC/ST/OBC (NCL) candidates: Caste Validity Certificate
  • Recent passport size photographs
Note: Create a DigiLocker account and keep your documents there. IOCL says this is only a help for faster checking, not a must. Certificates not in English or Hindi need a self-certified translation.
