CA Foundation Passing Marks 2026 – With Examples

You must score at least 40 in every paper and at least 200 out of 400 in total. Study the examples below. They are our own examples to explain the rule. They are not real candidates.

• Example 2 shows that a high total does not help if one paper is below 40.

• The male and female split follows CAclubIndia’s report. Another site shows the same numbers under the heading “Group 1” and “Group 2”, which looks like a label mistake, because the Foundation exam has no groups. The totals match in both.
• Our check: 10,931 + 8,805 = 19,736 and 53,398 + 50,842 = 1,04,240.

CA Foundation September 2026 Toppers (As Reported)

• The names and percentages are from the Careers360 live report of 6 November 2026. The marks out of 400 are our calculation from the percentage.
• Reports say that ICAI published AIR 1, 2 and 3, but we did not find the names for AIR 3.
• The official portal has a merit list entry. Use it for the final names, because spellings and ties are confirmed there.

• For the September 2024 session, ICAI said candidates who got at least 70% marks were shown as “Pass with Distinction” on the scorecard.

• You can move to the CA Intermediate course, subject to ICAI’s course registration and training requirements.
• Follow the official ICAI Student Services Portal (SSP) for registration steps, fees and dates.
• Check the eligibility conditions for Intermediate registration on the ICAI website before you pay any fee.
• Plan your Intermediate study early. Read the syllabus and make a timetable.
• Keep your Foundation scorecard safe. You will need it later.

If You Did Not Pass – A Clear Plan

• Check which condition you missed: a paper below 40, or a total below 200.
• Look at your paper-wise marks to find your weak subject.
• The next session is January 2027. The application window opened on 3 November 2026, with the regular deadline reported as 16 November and the late-fee deadline as 19 November 2026.
• Apply on time through the ICAI SSP portal and pay the exam fee as per ICAI rules.
• Remember that passing one paper does not give you credit in the next attempt. You have to clear all four papers and the aggregate rule in a single attempt, as per the rule shown above.
• If you think there is a mistake in your marks, follow ICAI’s official procedure for clarification or verification. Read the ICAI notice for the process and fees.
