GATE Score Weightage & Tie-Breaking Rules

  • Candidates must submit their best GATE score from any one of the eligible years (2024, 2025, or 2026) in the discipline applied for
  • Equal weightage is given to GATE 2024, GATE 2025, and GATE 2026 scores — no year is preferred over another when comparing scores directly
  • Tie-Breaking Criteria (in order):
    • First: The candidate with the older-year GATE score is ranked higher
    • Second: If GATE score and year are both same, the candidate older in age is ranked higher
    • Third: If still tied, the candidate with the higher percentage in the essential qualification is ranked higher (CGPA candidates must provide a University Registrar conversion certificate if no formula is provided by the university)
