Age Limit and Fee

Age: 18 to 44 years as on 1 July 2026. Relaxation and application fee are not stated in the brief notification. A coaching page lists age relaxation and fee from an older notification, but those do not match the new age limit, so I am not giving them here. Please wait for the detailed notification (on or before 2 November 2026) for relaxation, fee and payment details.

Pay Scale

₹57,100 to ₹1,47,760 per month, plus allowances as per government rules. The same scale is shown for all eight post codes. This is the scale, not the take-home salary. One coaching page shows a different range of ₹37,100 – ₹91,450, but most sources and the brief notification say ₹57,100 – ₹1,47,760.

Selection Process

  1. Single-level Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT); there is no separate screening test
  2. Marks may be normalised if the test is held in many sessions

  • Date of birth proof
  • Category and PwBD certificates if applicable
  • Study and residence certificates of Andhra Pradesh
  • OTPR profile details
  • Recent photograph and signature

Subject-wise Preparation Plan (General Advice)

  1. First 2 weeks: finish Paper I basics: AP history, polity, geography, economy and reasoning.
  2. Next 4 weeks: study your main branch for Paper II and Paper III, starting with core subjects like strength of materials, hydraulics or machines.
  3. Next 2 weeks: revise formulas, solve previous-year type questions and note your weak areas.
  4. Last 2 weeks: take full-length mock tests of 150 questions in 150 minutes for each paper.
  5. Practise basic MS Office for the Computer Proficiency Test.

Because of one-third negative marking, answer only the questions you can solve with some confidence.

Exam Day Tips (General Advice)

  • Carry your hall ticket and a valid photo ID.
  • Reach the centre early and check the computer and the instructions.
  • Solve the easy questions first and mark difficult ones for review.
  • Keep an eye on the clock: about one minute per question.
  • Stay calm and avoid random guessing.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Applying for a post code for which your degree is not valid.
  • Waiting for the last date, because the website can be slow.
  • Believing unofficial pages for dates, age and fee.
  • Ignoring Paper I because you are strong in your branch.
  • Not reading the detailed notification fully before applying.

Brief Notification vs Detailed Notification (Simple Explanation)

The brief notification is a short notice with posts, vacancies and main dates. The detailed notification has everything else: fee, age relaxation, reservation rules, syllabus and the full steps to apply. Here only the brief notification is out. The detailed one is due on or before 2 November 2026, so wait for it before you pay any fee.

What to Do Before 2 November (General Advice)

  • Complete your OTPR profile on psc.ap.gov.in so that you can apply quickly.
  • Keep your degree certificate, mark sheets and other documents scanned and ready.
  • Find out which post codes match your branch: Civil, Mechanical or Electrical.
  • Start with Paper I, because it is common to all post codes.
  • Collect standard textbooks of your branch and make a short study plan.

What Does an Assistant Executive Engineer Do? (General Information)

An AEE is an engineer officer in a government department. The work depends on the department. In Water Resources an AEE can look after canals, irrigation works and projects. In Panchayat Raj and Rural Water Supply an AEE works on rural roads, buildings and water supply schemes. In Roads and Buildings an AEE handles roads and government buildings. The work usually includes planning, estimates, site supervision and quality checks. This is general information, not from the notification.

Branch-wise Tips (General Advice)

  • Civil: focus on structural analysis, concrete and steel design, hydraulics, soil mechanics and surveying.
  • Mechanical: focus on thermodynamics, machine design, heat transfer and manufacturing.
  • Electrical: focus on machines, power systems, protection and measurements.
  • All branches: do not ignore Paper I, as it carries 150 marks and is the same for everyone.
