About This Recruitment
Canara Bank has released the Graduate Apprentice Recruitment 2026 notification on 25 September 2026, inviting online applications for 3,500 training seats across all States and Union Territories, under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for the financial year 2026-27. Important Points About Training Seats:
- You can choose only ONE state; within that state, you can give your order of preference for districts
- The Bank can allot a seat in any district of the chosen state, based on administrative requirement and availability
- Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS follows the reservation percentages of the respective State/UT; PwBD reservation is horizontal within the overall state vacancies

Note: Stipend is paid every month after adjusting any loss of pay. The stipend is higher than the previous year’s cycle (₹15,000/month in 2025), because of an increase in the Government share.
Selection Process 2026
- Step 1: Merit List — Prepared state-wise in descending order of marks/percentage in 12th (HSC/10+2) or Diploma. If two candidates have equal marks, the older candidate ranks higher
- Step 2: Minimum Marks Check — At least 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD) in 12th/Diploma. Fractions are ignored, so 59.99% is treated as below 60%
- Step 3: Document Verification & Local Language Test — Original documents are checked; local language test conducted at this stage (if required)
- Step 4: Medical Fitness & Final Selection — Subject to eligibility verification, local language test, and medical fitness
Important Points
- There is no written exam and no interview — the merit list is based only on the marks you enter in the online form
- If you have CGPA/OGPA, convert it to percentage in the online form and keep the conversion certificate ready
- Any wrong information in the form can lead to disqualification during document verification
Local Language Test: If you show a 10th or 12th mark sheet proving you studied the local language of your chosen state, you do NOT have to take the local language test. Others must pass this test at document verification, or they will not be engaged as apprentices.
How to Apply for Canara Bank Apprentice 2026 — Step by Step
Part 1: Register on NATS Portal (Do This First)
- Visit nats.education.gov.in and register as a candidate
- Log in and complete your profile to 100%
- Note down your NATS Enrollment ID — you will need it in the Bank’s form
Part 2: Apply on Canara Bank Website (1–17 October 2026)
- Visit canarabank.bank.in → Careers → Recruitment → “Engagement of Graduate Apprentices in Canara Bank under Apprentices Act, 1961 for FY 2026-27”
- Click “Click Here for New Registration” and enter basic details
- A provisional registration number and password will be sent by email and SMS — save them
- Enter your NATS Enrollment ID and fill in all details
- Choose ONE state and give your district preferences
- Upload photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and handwritten declaration
- Use “Save and Next” to check details; no changes are possible after clicking “Final Submit”
- Pay the fee (if applicable) and take a printout of the application and e-receipt

EWS & PwBD Reservation — Quick Guide
- EWS: Family gross annual income must be below ₹8 lakh. Families owning 5 acres or more agricultural land, a 1,000 sq. ft. or larger flat, or certain residential plots are excluded regardless of income. An Income and Asset Certificate in the prescribed format is required
- PwBD: Only persons with benchmark disability (at least 40%) are eligible. Visual Impairment, Hearing Impairment, Orthopedic/Locomotor Disability, Intellectual Disability, and Multiple Disabilities are covered. Temporary disability certificates are not accepted
- OBC: Only Non-Creamy Layer candidates get OBC benefits. Creamy layer candidates must select “General” category in the form
