Smart Tips for IPR Applicants
|
- Check your marks first: Look at your final marksheet. For B.E./B.Tech./Diploma you need at least 60%. If your university gives CGPA, keep the conversion certificate ready.
- Choose the right level: Do not apply to PSA with a B.Tech or to PSO with an M.Tech. You will not be screened in, and your fee will not be refunded.
- Keep one proof of age ready: Birth Certificate, SSLC or Matriculation certificate only.
- Check your category certificate: It must be in the prescribed Government of India format. For OBC, it must be the non-creamy layer certificate.
- Pay the fee before applying: General / OBC candidates should complete the SBI Collect payment first and note the receipt details.
- Do not wait for the last day: The portal can be slow near 5:30 PM on 16 November.
- Interview preparation (PSO / PSA): Revise the basics of your branch — for example, manufacturing and design for Mechanical, programming and data structures for Computer Science, control systems and sensors for Instrumentation & Control, and circuits for Electrical and Electronics. Since selection is mainly by interview, be ready to explain your projects, internships and training.
- Test preparation (PAS): Practise typing and MS Office (Word, Excel) for the computer skill test. Revise general aptitude, English and basic office work for the written test.
- Read about IPR: Know what plasma and fusion research is, and what IPR does. It helps you answer “why do you want to join IPR?”
- Keep your email active: Check inbox and spam folder daily. IPR sends all messages by email only.
- Be careful with fraud: The only payment is the application fee on SBI Collect. Do not pay any agent or person for a job.
