JKSSB Driver Answer Key 2026 — Latest Update in Simple Words

The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board has released the provisional answer key of the OMR written exam for Driver, Driver-II and Driver Grade-II posts. The exam was held on 18 October 2026 and the key was published on 19 October 2026, one day later.

‘Provisional’ means the key is not final. If you believe an answer given by the board is wrong, you can challenge it. After checking all objections, the board may correct some answers and release a final answer key. The result will be made on the final key.

Very important: The objection process is offline only. You have to go in person to a JKSSB office in Jammu or Srinagar with a Demand Draft. The time is short, so read the deadline section below carefully.

Important Dates 2026

  • OMR Written Examination: 18 October 2026

Objection Deadline Alert — Check Today

The board has given three working days beginning 19 October 2026. 19 October 2026 is a Monday and today, 20 October, is a Tuesday. So if there is no holiday in between, the three working days would be Monday 19, Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 October. This means the last day is most likely 21 October 2026, up to 5:00 PM.

Note: This is our own calculation from the notice wording. The exact last date is written in the official notice, so please confirm it on jkssb.nic.in or by calling the JKSSB office today. Do not wait for the last day.

About the Written Exam — What We Know

Item Details (As Reported)
Exam type OMR based, objective type (MCQs), English only
Number of questions 120
Series A, B, C and D (four different booklets)
Duration 120 minutes in earlier JKSSB driver exams, as reported
Selection steps Written exam, driving test and document verification, as reported for these recruitments
Note: We could not open the official notice (the JKSSB site blocks automated tools). These details come from FreeJobAlert and other education websites and earlier JKSSB driver notices.

Negative Marking — Be Careful, Sources Differ

This is the most confusing part for candidates, because different sources say different things:

  • Some sources (for the earlier driver exam) say there is no negative marking
  • Other sources for Advertisement 04/2025 and 09/2025 mention 0.25 mark (1/4) deducted for each wrong answer
  • FreeJobAlert’s answer key article tells candidates to apply the ‘official marking and negative-marking rules prescribed for the examination’

What you should do: Read the marking rules in your own advertisement (04/2025, 07/2025 or 09/2025) and on your OMR sheet instructions. Then use the matching formula in the next section.

How to Calculate Your Marks from the Answer Key

  1. Find your series (A, B, C or D) and open the matching answers
  2. Tick each question that you marked correctly
  3. Count three things: correct, wrong and not attempted
  4. Apply the formula for your advertisement (below)
  5. Write your estimated score and keep it for later comparison with the final key
Case Formula Example (90 correct, 20 wrong, 10 blank)
No negative marking Score = Correct × 1 90 × 1 = 90
Negative marking of 0.25 Score = Correct − (Wrong × 0.25) 90 − (20 × 0.25) = 90 − 5 = 85
Important: This assumes each question carries 1 mark (120 questions for 120 marks, as reported). The provisional key is not a result, and your final score can change if the board corrects any answer.

Why Your Estimated Score Is Only an Estimate

  • The key is provisional and may change after objections
  • OMR sheets can have marking errors, such as a faint circle or two circles filled
  • Each advertisement may have its own rules and merit list
  • Merit also depends on how many candidates score above you, department-wise and category-wise
  • Some posts may need a driving test or other checks before final selection

How to Raise Objections Against the JKSSB Driver Answer Key

  1. Download the provisional answer key and the Annexure B form from the official notice
  2. Note the question number and the series of the question you want to challenge
  3. Fill the Annexure B form completely and clearly
  4. Write your exam name, advertisement number, application number and roll number correctly
  5. Mention the question number, the answer given by the board and the correct answer you claim
  6. Attach proof: reference pages from a book, rule or official document
  7. Make a Demand Draft of ₹200 for each question you are challenging
  8. Use a separate form for every question
  9. Submit the forms with proof and DD in person at a JKSSB office between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM within the notified days
  10. Keep a photocopy of every paper and the DD details for your record

Where to Submit Objections

Location Address
Jammu J&K Services Selection Board, Muthi, Akhnoor Road, Jammu
Srinagar J&K Services Selection Board, Zamzam Building, Rambagh, Srinagar
Time: 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM only. Offices usually close at the stated time, so reach early to avoid long queues.

Objection Fee and Demand Draft Details

Item Details
Fee ₹200 per question
Payment mode Demand Draft (DD)
DD in favour of Accounts Officer, J&K Services Selection Board
Refund The fee will be refunded if the objection is found genuine and correct
Separate form One form (and fee) for each question

Cost example: If you challenge 4 questions, you need DDs worth 4 × ₹200 = ₹800, along with 4 separate forms. Bank charges for making the DD are extra.

Details Needed in the Objection Form (Annexure B)

  • Name of applicant
  • Examination name and advertisement number
  • Application number and roll number
  • Date of examination and exam centre division
  • Correspondence address and mobile number
  • Demand Draft number and date
  • Bank account number and IFSC code (for refund)
  • Question number and booklet series
  • Details of your objection and the correct answer you claim
  • Supporting reference material
  • Your signature and the date

How to Make a Strong Objection (Our Guidance)

  • Check twice before you pay. Each objection costs money. Challenge a question only if you are sure the board’s answer is wrong
  • Use proof from reliable sources: the Motor Vehicles Act and rules, official road safety manuals, the vehicle’s service manual or a standard motor mechanics textbook
  • Write clearly and briefly: Question number, board’s answer, your answer, and one or two lines on why
  • Attach page copies of the proof and mark the relevant line
  • Watch for these cases: two options that are both correct, no correct option, a wrongly framed question, or a different answer in different series
  • Do not argue on opinion. Boards accept facts and rules, not personal views
  • Submit early, not at closing time

Common Mistakes in Objection Submission

  • Missing the 3-working-day limit
  • Sending the form by post or email, when the process is offline in person
  • Using one form for many questions
  • Making a Demand Draft in the wrong name or for the wrong amount
  • Not attaching proof
  • Writing the wrong series or question number
  • Forgetting roll number or application number
  • Not keeping copies of documents

What Happens After the Answer Key?

  1. Objection review: A committee of experts checks every objection
  2. Final answer key: The board may correct answers and release a final key. The date is not announced yet
  3. Result and merit list: Prepared on the final key, post-wise and category-wise, as per the recruitment rules
  4. Next steps: As reported, these recruitments include a driving test and document verification. Some candidates may already have completed the driving test, which was held between February and April 2026. Check the board notices for your advertisement
  5. Selection: Final selection is made as per merit and the rules of the concerned department

Remember: The answer key is not the result. The board will publish the result separately.

  • Do not fold or scratch the sheet
  • Mark your answers on the question paper too (if allowed) so you can match with the key later
  • Leave a few minutes at the end to check your OMR sheet

Final Reminder for All Candidates

Even if you do not plan to object, please download and save the answer key today and note your estimated score. Keep watching jkssb.nic.in for the final answer key, the result and the next notice. Use only official sources, keep your documents ready, and stay calm while the board completes the process. Good luck to all candidates!

Beware of Fake Answer Keys and Agents

Do not trust any website or Telegram group that offers a ‘sure result’, ‘marks changing’ or a ‘final answer key’ before JKSSB releases it. JKSSB only takes objection fees through Demand Draft at its own offices. No agent can change your marks. Always read notices on jkssb.nic.in.
