Preparation Strategy – 8 Smart Tips
|
- Start with Part-B. It has 120 of the 210 marks, so your subject knowledge matters the most.
- Keep 40% minimum in each part in mind. A very weak Part-A can stop your selection even if Part-B is good.
- Finish Part-A basics in the first 3 to 4 weeks: reasoning, maths and Constitution.
- Read Gujarat current affairs daily, as Part-A includes current affairs.
- Practice English and Gujarati comprehension passages every day.
- Take full-length 210-question mock tests in 3 hours to improve speed.
- Use the 1/4 negative marking wisely. Attempt questions where you can remove at least two options.
- Revise the Food Safety and Standards Act and the basics of food testing in the last two weeks.
|
Common Mistakes to Avoid
|
- Waiting for the last day, when OJAS can be slow.
- Not completing the OTR on OJAS before applying.
- Uploading a photo or signature in the wrong size or above 15 KB.
- Forgetting to pay the fee by 13 November 2026.
- Using an old or wrong SEBC or EWS certificate.
- Entering the wrong category, which cannot be changed later.
- Not keeping the confirmation number and printout.
- Making many applications and losing fee on the earlier ones.
- Believing agents who promise a job for money. GSSSB does not take money for selection.
