Paper Questions / Marks / Time
Paper I: General Studies and General Abilities 150 Questions | 150 Marks | 150 Minutes
Paper II: Concerned Subject (Environmental Engineering) 150 Questions | 300 Marks | 150 Minutes
Total 450 Marks
Language of Paper I Bilingual (English and Telugu)
Language of Paper II English only
Question Type Objective (MCQ)
Note: The notification does not mention any negative marking in the pages I checked. Please read the instructions printed on your question paper and hall ticket to confirm.

How to Calculate Your Marks Using the Answer Key?

  1. Download your response sheet and the provisional key.
  2. Check Paper I: count your correct answers. Each question carries 1 mark (150 questions = 150 marks).
  3. Check Paper II: count your correct answers. Each question carries 2 marks (150 questions = 300 marks).
  4. Add the two scores to get your estimated total out of 450.

Formula: Estimated Marks = (Paper I Correct x 1) + (Paper II Correct x 2)

Example (for understanding only): If a candidate gets 100 correct in Paper I and 90 correct in Paper II, marks = 100 + (90 x 2) = 280 out of 450.

Important: This is only an estimate. The per-question marks are worked out from the total marks and question count in the notification. TGPSC may change the key, delete questions, or apply normalisation if the test is held in many sessions, so your final marks can be different.

Qualifying Marks (As Per Official Notification)

Category Minimum Qualifying Marks
OC, Sportspersons and EWS 40%
BC 35%
SC, ST and PwBD 30%
Note: Only getting the minimum marks does not give a right to selection. Selection is by merit rank against available vacancies.

What Will TGPSC Do After the Objections?

  1. All valid online objections go to an Expert Committee.
  2. The Commission takes the final decision on the committee report.
  3. The final answer key is hosted on the TGPSC website.
  4. If any question is deleted, its marks are shared fairly based on how candidates did in the valid questions, as per the notification.
  5. Final marks are calculated up to 3 decimal places for the merit list.

Note: Objections on the final key will not be accepted.
