- Open the exam link a little early, and complete system checks as per BFSI SSC instructions

- Revise your graduation subjects and basic banking knowledge

- Be ready to tell your preferred training city and why it suits you
- Keep your phone charged and your email open for any interview link or instructions, in case it is held online
|
What Will You Gain From This Apprenticeship?
- Real work experience in a housing finance company for 12 months
- Monthly stipend of ₹14,150 to ₹16,650 during training
- Skills in customer handling, loan documentation, branch work and financial products
- A training certificate or completion record as per the programme rules. In earlier cycles, BFSI SSC mentioned a proficiency certificate, but please confirm in the 2026 notification
- Better chances in future banking, finance and NBFC job applications because you will have practical experience
- Placement help or job information from BFSI SSC was mentioned in earlier programmes, but it is not a guarantee of any job
|
Apprenticeship vs Regular Job — Understand the Difference
- An apprentice is a trainee. You learn on the job for a fixed period, which is 12 months here
- You get a stipend, not a salary. The stipend is fixed according to the city category
- A regular employee gets salary, increments and service benefits as per company rules. An apprentice does not automatically get these
- At the end of the training, the company is not bound to offer you a job
- Still, many candidates use apprenticeship to gain experience and then apply for jobs in banks and NBFCs with a stronger resume
- Please read the apprenticeship terms and conditions in the notification before you accept any offer
|
How to Choose Your Training City Smartly
- Metro cities give a higher stipend of ₹16,650, but rent and daily costs are also higher
- Other cities give ₹14,150, but if you stay at home or with family, you can save more money
- Check the number of seats in each state. States with more seats give you a better chance
- Choose a district where you can reach the office easily, because you will work daily for 12 months
- Do not choose a city only because of the stipend. Think about your living cost, safety and travel
- Remember that your preference is chosen during the application, so decide before paying the fee
|
Time Management Tips for the 100-Question Exam
- You have 60 minutes for 100 questions, which means a little less than 36 seconds per question
- The exam has four parts of 25 questions. Try to finish each part in about 13–14 minutes and keep the last 5 minutes for review
- Start with the part you are strongest in, to build confidence
- Skip a question that takes more than a minute and come back to it later, if the exam allows going back
- In the quantitative part, solve easy calculation questions first and leave long ones for the end
- Do not panic about negative marking until you read the official instructions. Check whether wrong answers have a penalty and plan accordingly
- Keep a small stock of mock tests of 100 questions and time yourself
|
Possible Interview Questions (For Practice)
- Tell me about yourself and your graduation subject
- Why do you want to join LIC HFL as an apprentice?
- What is a housing finance company? How is it different from a bank?
- What is EMI? What is interest rate? What is a home loan?
- What documents are needed for a home loan? (basic idea: identity, address, income and property papers)
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- Where do you see yourself after this one-year apprenticeship?
- These are only practice questions to help you prepare. The real interview may be different
