Read This First – Unofficial Key vs Official Key

  • The answer keys now available are made by coaching websites such as Testbook, Prepp and others. They are not issued by UPSSSC.
  • UPSSSC has not yet released its official provisional answer key. The commission has not announced a date, as of 1 November 2026.
  • Unofficial keys can have mistakes. Two websites can give a different answer for the same question.
  • Use these keys only to get a rough idea of your score. Do not take any decision, like stopping preparation or celebrating, on the basis of them.
  • Only the official key and the final result decide your qualifying status.

Note: Many websites write “Answer Key Out” in the title. Please check whether it says “Unofficial”. If it is not on upsssc.gov.in, it is not the commission’s key.

UPSSSC PET Answer Key 2026 in Simple Words

PET is a screening exam. A candidate needs a valid PET score to apply for many Group C posts in Uttar Pradesh. The 2026 exam is being held on three days, in two shifts each day. The last day is today, 1 November 2026.

After the exam, many candidates want to know their expected marks. Coaching websites solve the paper and publish unofficial answer keys the same day. You can compare your answers with them to estimate your score. The commission later publishes its own provisional key, takes objections and then publishes the final key and the result.

This page tells you what is available today, how to calculate your marks, how normalisation can change your final score, and what to do when the official key arrives.

Shift-Wise Unofficial Key Status (As Seen on the Reference Pages)

Exam Date Shift Unofficial Key Status
25 October 2026 Shift 1 (10 AM) Available (Testbook PDF)
25 October 2026 Shift 2 (3 PM) Available (Testbook PDF)
30 October 2026 Shift 1 (10 AM) Available (Testbook PDF)

1 November 2026 Shift 2 (3 PM) Exam is on today. Key expected after the shift ends

Note: Keys are updated through the day. Check the latest status on the website of the coaching institute and, more importantly, on upsssc.gov.in.

How to Check Your Expected Score – Step by Step

  1. Find your exam date and shift. It is printed on your admit card.
  2. Download the unofficial key of that exact date and shift.
  3. Note down your answers from your memory, the question booklet or the rough notes you made.
  4. Remember that the question paper can have different sets (A, B, C, D). Match your set code with the key.
  5. Count the right answers, the wrong answers and the unattempted questions.
  6. Add 1 mark for each right answer.
  7. Subtract 0.25 mark for each wrong answer. Unattempted questions give 0.
  8. The result is your expected raw score out of 100.

Note: PET is an OMR exam. Some websites talk about an online “response sheet” login. Whether UPSSSC will give any such facility in 2026 is not known. Wait for the official notice.

Marks Calculator – Quick Examples

Right Answers Wrong Answers Calculation Expected Raw Score
90 5 90 – (5 x 0.25) 88.75
80 10 80 – (10 x 0.25) 77.5
70 20 70 – (20 x 0.25) 65
60 30 60 – (30 x 0.25) 52.5
50 40 50 – (40 x 0.25) 40
  • Each wrong answer cuts 0.25 mark. So four wrong guesses cost one full mark.
  • This is why a guess is useful only when you can remove at least two options.
  • These examples are only for understanding the formula. They are not cutoffs.

Why Your Final Score May Be Different – Normalisation

  • The exam was held on three days in six shifts. Some shifts can have an easier paper and some a harder one.
  • Reports say that UPSSSC will apply normalisation across shifts and days. This is a method to make the scores fair.
  • So your final PET score can be different from your raw score.
  • Because of this, two candidates with the same raw score can get a slightly different final score if they sat in different shifts.
  • The commission publishes the final marks after the result is declared.

Note: The point about normalisation comes from third-party reports on the PET notice. Please read the official notice to confirm how the final score will be made.

Why Unofficial Keys Can Be Different

  • Coaching teachers solve the paper in a short time, so some answers can go wrong.
  • Different websites can pick different options for a doubtful question.
  • Questions can be in different sets, and the order is changed in each set.
  • The official key is made by the commission after expert review, so it can differ from every unofficial key.
  • Always check at least two sources for the questions that decide your score, and wait for the official key.

How to Raise Objections When the Official Key Comes

The 2026 process will be given in the official notice. For understanding, in PET 2023 the commission uploaded date-wise and shift-wise provisional keys of the master set on its website and gave an online link for objections. Candidates had to select the question, choose the type of objection and submit it. After the last date, the facility closed automatically.

  1. Keep checking upsssc.gov.in every day from 2 November 2026.
  2. Open the notice for the provisional answer key and note the last date for objections.
  3. Log in or open the objection link exactly as told in the notice.
  4. Select the question and the set, and choose the type of objection.
  5. Give a short and clear reason, with standard reference proof such as a page of a textbook, if the form allows it.
  6. Submit the objection and save the confirmation or summary.
  7. Do not wait for the last day.

Note: One website says that an objection fee per question is charged. This is not confirmed in the notices we saw. Read the 2026 notice before you pay or submit.

Is the Score Valid for 1 Year or 3 Years?

The Testbook page says the PET score is valid for 1 year. Other reports say that from PET 2025 onwards the validity was increased from 1 year to 3 years, and several PET 2026 pages say 3 years from the result date. We have used 3 years on this page. Please confirm it in the official PET notice.

PET 2026 Exam Pattern – Quick Summary

Do Not Trust “Marks vs Rank” Predictions Blindly

  • Some websites give lists such as “80+ marks is safe” or “below 60 is low chance”. These are guesses by the website, not rules of UPSSSC.
  • PET is an eligibility test. The qualifying marks for each category are decided by the commission in the result notice.
  • Group C posts have their own recruitment, vacancy numbers and rules. A PET score is only the first step.
  • Prepp estimates about 70 to 76 good attempts for the 1 November Shift 1 paper and a moderate difficulty. This is an unofficial estimate.
  • Use predictions only to calm your mind, not to decide your future.

Your Action Plan from 1 November

When What to Do
1 November (today) If you are writing today, finish the exam calmly. Save your admit card and rough notes.
2 November onwards Check upsssc.gov.in daily for the official provisional key notice.

During the objection window Raise objections only for questions where you are sure and have proof.
After the final key Wait for the result and the normalised scores. Keep your documents ready for Group C applications.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Believing an unofficial key as the official answer key.
  • Comparing with the key of the wrong date, shift or question paper set.
  • Forgetting negative marking when you count your score.
  • Missing the objection window because you did not check the official site.
  • Thinking a high raw score is safe before normalisation and the final result.
  • Following Telegram or WhatsApp rumours about cutoff and selection.
  • Using unknown websites that ask for money or personal details for the key.
