How to Prepare for UP Lekhpal Exam (Simple Plan)

  1. Start with the marks map. Uttar Pradesh general information (20), computer and IT (15), General Hindi (10), Data Interpretation (10) and Environment and Disaster Management (10) give 65 marks. Give these the first block of study time.
  2. Make a timetable for all 12 sections. The seven 5-mark subjects give 35 marks together. Cover each in short, regular sessions.
  3. Keep separate notes for Uttar Pradesh. History, culture, geography, resources, economy, administration and recent achievements of the state.
  4. Practise computer questions. Basics like hardware, MS Word, MS Excel, e-mail, cyber security and new technologies are easy marks if you revise regularly.
  5. Practise Data Interpretation daily. Read tables and graphs and solve a few every day for speed.
  6. Solve previous papers and mock tests on OMR-style sheets within 2 hours.
  7. Attempt carefully. A wrong answer costs 1/4 mark. Mark answers when you can remove options with confidence.
  8. Revise weak areas every week and read current affairs daily.

Sample Weekly Study Plan

Day Focus
Monday Uttar Pradesh general information
Tuesday General Hindi
Wednesday Computer and IT
Thursday Data Interpretation and revision of Hindi
Friday Environment, Ecology and Disaster Management
Saturday History, Polity, Geography, Economy (5-mark subjects)
Sunday Mock test, current events and weak-area revision
Note: This is my own simple suggestion, not an official plan. Change it to fit your time and strengths.
