Sports Eligibility Criteria
Meritorious sportspersons will be considered for appointment under any ONE of the following categories:
- Category A (Highest): Represented State/Country in National/International competitions; Medal winners in Junior National Championships; Medal winners in Khelo India Youth Games (above 18 yrs)/Winter Games/Para Games; Medal winners in Khelo India University Games; Medal winners in School Games Federation of India (SGFI). For Chess: GM Title, IM Title, Chess Olympiad participation, or medal in National Team Chess Championship.
- Category B: Represented University in Inter-University Tournaments conducted by Inter-University Sports Boards.
- Category C: Represented State School Teams in National Sports/Games for Schools conducted by All India School Games Federation.
Reckoning Period: Only achievements between 01.01.2022 and 30.06.2026 will be considered (closing date of the tournament must fall within this range).
Doping Clearance: Candidates must be clear in all Doping Tests conducted by WADA/NADA, must not be disqualified/banned by any sports federation, and must disclose any pending investigation related to doping/unfair means (as per ANNEXURE-B declaration).

Selection Process 2026
- Stage 1: Scrutiny of Applications — incomplete/unsigned/without proper attested documents will be rejected
- Stage 2: Shortlisting on the basis of Nationality, Age, Educational Qualification & Best Sports Performance (01.01.2022–30.06.2026)
- Stage 3: Document Verification before the Selection Committee (original documents required)
