Important – The 21 October List Is Withdrawn

  • Punjab & Sind Bank found “inadvertent discrepancies” in the provisional shortlist of 21 October 2026 and withdrew it.
  • The revised list of 2 November 2026 replaces it. Check only this new list.
  • The bank has not said what the discrepancies were. It has also not given a comparison between the old and the new list.
  • So if you saw your roll number in the old list, do not assume that you are still shortlisted. Search the new PDF again.
  • If you were not in the old list, check the new one also. It can have different roll numbers.

Note: This is a provisional list. Shortlisted candidates must still qualify the Language Proficiency Test (where applicable) and pass document verification before any further selection.

Punjab & Sind Bank LBO Phase 3 Result 2026 in Simple Words

Punjab & Sind Bank invited experienced bank officers to join as Local Bank Officers in JMGS I scale, through lateral recruitment. The bank advertised 1,000 posts in 17 states in March 2026, as reported by education websites. The online test was held on 10 May 2026, and the interviews were held later.

On 2 November 2026, the bank published a revised provisional shortlist. It has the roll numbers of 595 candidates, arranged state by state, in a three-page PDF. A candidate whose roll number is in this list is provisionally shortlisted. The word “provisional” is important. It means that the bank will check eligibility again, and the candidate must meet the remaining conditions.

The PDF does not give marks, cutoffs or a final appointment date. It only shows roll numbers. This page explains what is in the list, what the next steps are, and how to prepare, without guessing any facts that the bank has not published.

Shortlisted Entries vs Advertised Vacancies (Where Vacancy Figures Are Known)

Education websites reported state-wise vacancies of the March 2026 advertisement. For the states where we found the figures, the table compares them with the entries in the revised list. This is only for understanding. The bank has not published such a comparison.

State Advertised Vacancies (Reported) Roll Numbers in Revised List Entries per Vacancy
Uttar Pradesh 200 179 0.90
Gujarat 125 40 0.32
Punjab 100 68 0.68
Chhattisgarh 80 67 0.84
Odisha 80 17 0.21
Tamil Nadu 65 25 0.38
Telangana 30 15 0.50
West Bengal 30 15 0.50
Jharkhand 10 8 0.80
Kerala 10 8 0.80
  • Uttar Pradesh has 179 entries for 200 vacancies, and Punjab has 68 for 100 vacancies.
  • Gujarat has only 40 entries for 125 vacancies, and Odisha has 17 for 80.
  • Total entries (595) are about 59.5% of the 1,000 advertised posts (our calculation). The rest of the process can change the final numbers.
  • Vacancy figures here are from reports of the March 2026 notice by PW, Testbook and others, and are not from the result PDF.

Note: Do not read this table as “selection chances”. Language test, verification and bank rules can still change the final list.

Note: The stage list is as reported by education websites for the March 2026 advertisement. The 2 November notice itself speaks about LPT and document verification as the remaining requirements.

Language Proficiency Test (LPT) – What to Know

  • The bank says candidates must qualify the LPT wherever it applies to them.
  • Education websites explain that candidates who cannot show a 10th or 12th marksheet proving that they studied the opted state’s local language have to take the LPT. It checks reading, writing and understanding of the language.
  • Candidates who studied the local language in 10th or 12th are generally exempt, as per these reports. For example, Punjabi for Punjab.
  • The 2 November notice does not give the LPT date, centre or format.
  • Start practising the local language of your state now. Read newspapers, write short paragraphs and practise translating simple sentences.
  • Keep your 10th and 12th marksheets ready. They can prove the language you studied.

Note: Please read your own advertisement and the bank’s email to know whether the LPT is applicable to you.

Document Verification (DV) – Be Ready

  • The bank will check eligibility as per the conditions in the advertisement of 30 March 2026.
  • The result notice does not give a DV date, venue or full document list.
  • Reports of the advertisement mention graduation from a recognised institution and at least 18 months of officer experience in a Scheduled Commercial Bank or Regional Rural Bank. Keep proofs ready.
  • Keep these documents ready: ID proof, date of birth proof, graduation certificate and marksheets, experience certificates and appointment letters, category certificate (SC / ST / OBC-NCL / EWS / PwBD), 10th and 12th marksheets for the language rule, and passport size photographs.
  • Carry originals and self-attested photocopies, and follow the bank’s email for the exact list.

Note: The qualification and experience details are from third-party reports of the advertisement, not from the result PDF. Please read the official advertisement.

How Will the Bank Contact You?

  • The bank will contact shortlisted candidates separately about further steps through their registered email addresses only.
  • No separate communication will be sent to candidates who are not in the revised shortlist.
  • Check your inbox and spam folder every day.
  • Keep your registered email active, and keep watching the bank’s recruitment page.
  • The bank has also kept the right to correct errors or omissions at any stage of the recruitment.

If You Are Not in the Revised List – What Can You Do?

  • Search the PDF again with your exact roll number and read all three pages.
  • Check that you are looking at the notice dated 2 November 2026, and not at the withdrawn list.
  • The notice does not mention any appeal or re-evaluation process. The bank has said it will not write separately to candidates who are not shortlisted.
  • Keep an eye on the bank’s recruitment page for any other notice.
  • Plan for other bank officer recruitments, and use your experience of this process to improve.
  • Do not trust agents or social media messages that promise to “add your name”.

Pay and Posting – What Is Reported

  • Pay scale of JMGS I: Rs. 48,480 to Rs. 85,920, with 3 advance increments, as reported by education websites for the March 2026 advertisement.
  • LBO works at branch level, handling operations, customer relations and region-specific banking, with mandatory local language skills.
  • Posting is in the state for which the candidate is selected.

Note: Pay and posting details are from reports on the advertisement. Please check the official advertisement.
