The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Southern Railway, Chennai has released the Document Verification (DV) and Medical Examination list for Group D Level-1 posts under CEN No. 08/2024. The official PDF has 55 pages. It contains the names and registration numbers of candidates who are provisionally shortlisted, along with their DV date, reporting time and venue.
Document Verification will start on 4 November 2026 at RRC Chennai. The DV e-call letter will be available about 5 to 7 days before each candidate’s DV date. In this post we explain the list in very simple words: how to check it, which documents to carry, what to do about photo and signature upload, and what mistakes can cancel your candidature.
How to Check Your Name in the DV List (Step by Step)
Open the official website of RRC Chennai: rrcmas.in
Find the section for CEN No. 08/2024 (Level-1)
Click on the notice named Schedule of DV & ME
Download the PDF (55 pages)
Press Ctrl + F on a computer, or use the search option in the PDF viewer on your phone
Type your full registration number and search
If found, note down your DV date, reporting time and venue
Save the PDF and take a screenshot of your row for safety

Very Important: Do Not Mix CEN 08/2024 With CEN 09/2025
Many candidates are confused because there are two Group D recruitments running in Indian Railways. Please read carefully:
CEN 08/2024 (this post): About 32,438 Level-1 vacancies across railway zones. The CBT was held from November 2025 to February 2026 and the result came on 1 July 2026. Now the stage is Document Verification and Medical Examination.
CEN 09/2025 (different recruitment): About 22,195 vacancies. As per Testbook, its CBT was held in August and the result is still awaited (expected in the 4th week of October 2026, which is not official).
The DV list in this post is only for the RRC Chennai (Southern Railway) region. Other regions publish their own DV lists on their own websites.
If you applied under CEN 09/2025, this DV list is not for you.
Is This the Final Merit List? (No!)
This is a provisional shortlist for DV and Medical Examination. It is not the final appointment list.
The registration numbers in the PDF are not in merit order. You cannot guess your rank or marks from your position in the list.
RRC Chennai has said that being called for DV and Medical does not guarantee a job. You must pass the document check and the medical test.
The notice also says the shortlist is subject to the final result of Writ Petition No. 7985/2026 pending in the Telangana High Court.

RRC Chennai Group D Cut Off — What You Should Know
The DV list PDF does not contain any cut off marks. It is only a schedule. So please do not try to find your marks in this PDF.
The cut off that was used to shortlist candidates for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) was released on 1 July 2026 along with the CBT result. For the RRB Chennai region, the normalised CBT cut off marks reported by education portals are given below:

Documents to Carry for Document Verification
Carry the original of every document and two photocopies of each, as told in the official DV notice. Bring only the documents that apply to you.
DV e-call letter (printout)
Lower portion of your CBT call letter and PET call letter, as applicable. PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and CCAA candidates bring the lower portion of the CBT call letter
Date of birth proof: Class 10 / Matric certificate, birth certificate or other accepted school certificate
Photo ID proof: original Aadhaar card is must. Other accepted IDs can be Voter ID, PAN, Driving Licence or Passport
Educational qualification: Class 10 pass certificate, ITI or equivalent certificate, or National Apprentice Certificate (NAC) as applicable
Caste certificate for SC / ST / OBC candidates. OBC candidates need the certificate in the prescribed format, not older than one year at the time of DV, with the non-creamy layer self-declaration
EWS income certificate in the prescribed format, if you chose EWS in your application
EBC certificate or minority community declaration, if you took exam fee concession
PwBD disability certificate in the prescribed format, if applicable
No Objection Certificate (NOC) for serving government or PSU employees, if applicable
3 passport-size photographs same as in your application (no sunglasses or cap)
Any other certificate that you claimed in your application
Certificates in a language other than Hindi or English need an English translation attested by a gazetted officer
Photo and Signature Upload for DV
You must upload your colour photograph and signature on the Railway Recruitment Board DV portal.
The portal opens 7 days before your DV date and closes on your DV date.
Portal link shared by an education website: oirms-ir.gov.in/rrbdv. Please use the link given in your official e-call letter if it is different.
Keep a clear, recent photo and a neat signature ready in advance so that you do not rush on the last day.
Medical Examination 2026
Shortlisted candidates will also go through the Medical Examination as per railway rules.
The notice asks for a Medical Examination fee of ₹24, to be paid at the time of Document Verification.
Follow the instructions in your e-call letter for the venue, process and payment.
Carry the medical fitness-related papers only if your e-call letter asks for them.
Important Rules From RRC Chennai (Please Read Carefully)
Requests to change your DV date, venue or time will not be accepted
If you do not come on your allotted date, your candidature can be rejected
The notice says that only in some limited cases, with proof, a ‘block date’ can be considered. Read your e-call letter for the exact rule
Download the e-call letter on time. It will have instructions for both DV and Medical
The call for DV is provisional. Wrong or fake documents can cancel your candidature at any stage
Day-Before Checklist (Simple and Useful)
Print the e-call letter and the DV list page that shows your name
Put originals in one folder and two photocopies in another folder, in the same order
Check names, date of birth and spelling in all documents. A small spelling mistake can create problems
Keep the original Aadhaar card and 3 photographs ready
Keep ₹24 in small money or as per the payment method told in your call letter
Check your reporting time: 09:00 AM or 01:30 PM. Plan to reach early
Check the route to RRC Chennai and keep a little extra time for travel
Keep a pen, a file folder and a few extra photocopies in your bag
Common Mistakes Candidates Make
Forgetting to download the e-call letter
Missing the photo and signature upload before the DV date
Carrying only photocopies without originals
OBC certificate that is old or not in the prescribed format
Carrying documents of the wrong category
Believing an agent who says ‘I can fix your date or your selection’. Nobody can do this. Only RRC Chennai decides
Thinking the DV list is the final selection list
What Happens After Document Verification?
Step 1: Attend Document Verification on your allotted date
Step 2: Complete the Medical Examination
Step 3: RRC Chennai checks your merit, category and medical fitness
Step 4: The final selection / panel is published (date not announced yet)
Step 5: Selected candidates get training and posting as per railway rules
