Important: Sources differ slightly in wording of the qualification (one says only “ITI or equivalent”). The trade names and experience rule above are from the more detailed summary. Please match your trade with the official PDF before applying.

2 Years Experience Rule — Easy Guide

  • Get an experience certificate on the company letterhead with name, trade / designation, start date, end date, and signature with seal.
  • The work must match your ITI trade. Example: an Electrician ITI holder should have electrician work experience.
  • Apprenticeship may or may not be counted. Check the official PDF and do not guess.
  • If you worked in more than one company, keep a certificate from each one and add the total duration.

UKSSSC Technician Grade-II Exam Pattern 2026

Feature Details
Exam Mode Offline (OMR Sheet)
Total Questions 100 Objective (Multiple Choice) Questions
Total Marks 100
Duration 2 Hours
Options per Question 4
Negative Marking 0.25 mark (¼) for each wrong answer
Penalty for Not Attempting None
Question Level Trade-level technical knowledge based on ITI subject

Minimum Qualifying Marks

Category Minimum Marks
UR / OBC / EWS 45% (45 out of 100)
SC / ST 35% (35 out of 100)
Important: Passing the minimum marks does not give you the job. Only high scorers in each category are selected for the 78 posts.

How Negative Marking Works — Easy Example

  • You attempt 80 questions. 65 are right and 15 are wrong.
  • Marks for right answers = 65 × 1 = 65
  • Cut for wrong answers = 15 × 0.25 = 3.75
  • Final score = 65 − 3.75 = 61.25 marks
  • Tip: Four wrong answers cancel one right answer. So do not guess a question if you have no idea at all.

This is only an example to explain the calculation, not an official result.

How to Apply Online for UKSSSC Technician Grade-II 2026

  1. Go to the official website sssc.uk.gov.in (from 12 October 2026).
  2. Open the advertisement 83/UKSSSC/2026 and read the full PDF first.
  3. Click on Apply Online and register using your Aadhaar number, mobile number and email ID. One Aadhaar can be used for one application only.

  6. Pay the application fee online (debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI).
  7. Submit the form and print it. Check that the application status shows “Completed”.

Tip: Do not wait for the last day. Servers become slow in the last 2 to 3 days. Use the correction window (28 to 30 November) only to fix small mistakes.

Documents Required — Checklist

  • Aadhaar Card (both sides)
  • High School (10th) marksheet and certificate (also Date of Birth proof)
  • ITI certificate and marksheet in your trade (NCVT / SCVT)
  • 2 years experience certificate on company letterhead

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Wrong category selection. You cannot change it easily after submit.
  • Using blurry photo or wrong size signature / thumb impression.
  • Name or date of birth not matching with 10th certificate.
  • Not printing the final form or not checking that the status is “Completed”.
  • Paying the fee but not clicking final submit.

Quick Eligibility Self-Check (Yes / No)

  1. Is my age between 18 and 42 years on 01 July 2026 (or within category relaxation)?
  2. Do I have High School with Science and Maths?
  3. Do I have ITI in Electrician / Electronics / Fitter as needed for my post?
  4. Do I have 2 years experience in the same trade after ITI, with a proper certificate?
  5. Do I have all papers for domicile and category if I want reservation?
  6. Is my Aadhaar linked with an active mobile number?

If all answers are Yes, you can apply. If any answer is No, please check the official notification once again.

Smart Preparation Plan for UKSSSC Technician Exam

  • You have about 5 months (the exam is tentatively in March 2027). Make a daily plan and follow it.
  • Months 1 and 2: Revise your ITI trade theory books fully. Make short notes of formulas and definitions.
  • Month 3: Practise ITI trade MCQs and previous year papers of Technician / ITI-level exams.
  • Month 4: Add basic Maths, Science and General Knowledge. Read Uttarakhand basics, especially power projects and PTCUL / UJVNL.
  • Month 5: Take full 100-question mock tests in 2 hours using an OMR-style practice sheet.
  • Avoid blind guessing: because of 0.25 negative marking, attempt only the questions you are fairly sure about.
  • Practise Devanagari reading if you apply for PTCUL, since the post asks for Devanagari script knowledge.
