GSRTC Helper Vacancy 2026: 2510 Posts, Eligibility & Apply Online

The GSRTC Helper Recruitment 2026 has opened a major opportunity for ITI-qualified candidates seeking a government-sector technical job in Gujarat.

The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) is inviting online applications for 2,510 Helper posts under its direct recruitment drive on a fixed-pay basis. Eligible candidates can submit their applications from 7 September to 6 October 2026, while the fee payment facility remains available up to 8 October 2026.

The selected candidates will receive a fixed monthly salary of ₹21,100 for the first five years, followed by eligibility for regular appointment subject to the applicable service conditions.

The recruitment is particularly important for candidates holding ITI qualifications in trades such as Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Diesel Mechanic, Fitter, Electrician, Welder, Turner and other specified technical trades.

The selection process includes a 100-mark written examination, with the final merit also giving weightage to a qualifying apprenticeship certificate in the same trade.

Candidates should check the eligibility requirements, vacancy distribution, exam pattern, application fee and document requirements carefully before submitting the GSRTC Helper online application. GSRTC maintains its official recruitment-related information through its website, while Gujarat’s OJAS portal is used for online applications.

Preparation Strategy for GSRTC Helper Exam

  • Trade-related questions carry the highest weightage (50 marks) — revise your ITI trade subject thoroughly since this section decides most of your score
  • For General Knowledge, focus specifically on Gujarat’s history, geography, and current affairs rather than generic national GK
  • Practice basic Gujarati and English grammar at a Class 10 level — questions here are usually direct and scoring
  • For Computer Knowledge, revise MS Office basics, internet fundamentals, and simple hardware/software terms
  • Since the exam is only 2 hours for 100 questions/marks, practice time management with full-length mock tests
  • Keep your Apprenticeship certificate (if any) ready and verified in advance, as it carries a real 10% weightage in the final merit
