Post Skill Test
Assistant and UDC Computer Literacy Test
JPA and Stenographer Computer Literacy Test and Stenography Test
  • The Skill Test is qualifying in nature, as per the advertised procedure. It is not an interview
  • Final selection is reported to be based on the written test marks of the candidates who qualify the Skill Test
  • Another portal gives different qualifying percentages for the Skill Test, so we have not written any number. Please read the Skill Test annexure of the advertisement
  • Your reporting time and venue are different for each zone and post. Do not copy the time of a friend

Documents to Keep Ready for Document Verification

The PDF and the official notice tell you the exact list. The points below are a general guide to help you get ready early:

  • Admit card of the CBT and a valid photo ID
  • Date of birth proof and educational certificates and marksheets
  • Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) in the prescribed format, if you claimed one
  • Disability or ex-serviceman certificate, if you claimed such a benefit
  • NOC from the employer, if you are working in a government or public sector job
  • Passport-size photographs and self-attested photocopies of everything
Note: This list is our general guidance and is not copied from the ISRO notice. Your own PDF and call letter are the final word.

Understanding Zone-Wise Lists (Simple Explanation)

ISRO has many centres across India, and recruitment is done zone by zone. When you applied, you chose or were linked to a recruitment zone. The board then made a separate list for each post in each zone. That is why there are 21 PDFs instead of one big list.

This also means that the Document Verification and Skill Test venue is different for each zone. A candidate of the Hyderabad zone will go to a different venue from a candidate of the Bengaluru zone. Always follow the schedule given in your own PDF.

What Does ‘Autonomous Bodies’ Mean in the List?

  • Some posts are for autonomous institutions under the Department of Space, as reported. In the lists, these are named Assistant – Autonomous Bodies and Junior Personal Assistant – Autonomous Bodies
  • Lists for these posts are given for Ahmedabad, Sriharikota and Thiruvananthapuram (Assistant) and for Ahmedabad (Junior Personal Assistant)
  • If you applied for an autonomous body post, open the PDF with the words Autonomous Bodies in its name, and not the normal Assistant PDF
  • The normal and the autonomous lists are separate, so your roll number will be only in one of them

What Is Document Verification? (Simple Explanation)

Document Verification (DV) is the stage where officers check your original certificates and compare them with the details you filled in your online application, such as date of birth, education, category and any other claim. It is not an exam. There are no marks for DV, but a wrong or missing document can stop your selection even if you pass the skill test.

In the ISRO lists, the DV date and time are written next to your roll number. In some cases, the DV and the Skill Test may be planned on the same day or on different days, so read your row carefully.

What Happens After the Skill Test?

  • Candidates who qualify the Skill Test and pass Document Verification are considered for final selection
  • As reported, final selection is made on the basis of the written test (CBT) marks among those who qualify the Skill Test
  • The final result and joining details will be announced by ISRO on its website. The date is not announced yet
  • Keep watching the official ISRO recruitment page and keep your registered mobile number and email active

What If You See Two Different Dates Online?

  • Always trust the official PDF of your own zone and post. Websites can have older dates
  • The Skill Test was shown as 25 October 2026 (tentative) in an earlier report, and now the result notice says 1 November 2026
  • If your PDF shows a different date or time from this post, follow your PDF
  • If you still have doubt, check the official ICRB recruitment page again before you travel

Test Day Checklist (Our Suggestion)

  • Printout of your PDF page with your roll number, and your admit card
  • Original photo ID and all original certificates
  • Two sets of self-attested photocopies and passport-size photographs
  • A pen and a transparent file for your papers
  • Money for travel and food. Carry water
  • Reach the venue before the reporting time written in your PDF

Your 8-Day Plan Before the Skill Test (Our Suggestion)

  • 24 October (today): Download your PDF. Note the Document Verification date, reporting time and venue
  • 25 October: Plan your travel and stay. Book tickets early, because the test is in a zone city that may be far from home
  • 26 October: Collect all documents. Make 2 sets of self-attested photocopies
  • 27 to 29 October: Practise for your test: computer basics, MS Office and typing for Assistant and UDC. Add shorthand speed practice for JPA and Stenographer
  • 30 October: Revise once. Check your admit card and ID are with you
  • 31 October: Light practice. Pack your bag. Sleep early
  • 1 November: Reach early with all originals. Follow instructions at the centre

Tips for the Computer Literacy and Stenography Tests (Our Suggestions)

  • Practise typing with accuracy before speed. Many mistakes can cost you the qualifying result
  • Be comfortable with basic MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint tasks and keyboard shortcuts
  • For stenography, practise dictation daily and read back your notes to check them
  • Do not carry a phone or notes into the test hall if the notice says it is not allowed
  • Read each instruction on the screen carefully before you start
  • Stay calm. The skill test is qualifying, so your main aim is to clear it with a safe margin

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Downloading the PDF of a different zone or post and not finding your roll number
  • Thinking that the shortlist is the final selection list
  • Following an old date. The Skill Test date is 1 November 2026 as per the result notice
  • Reaching late. Your reporting time is written in your own PDF
  • Carrying photocopies without the originals
  • Believing agents or social media posts that promise a job for money. Nobody can give you this
  • Not practising for the Skill Test because it is ‘only qualifying’
