What Is Shown in the KSET Score List?

  • Your name
  • Application number or roll number
  • Subject name
  • Paper-wise marks (Paper I and Paper II)
  • Total marks
  • Category information

Check every detail carefully. If your name, subject or category looks wrong, note it down and follow the official KEA instructions for corrections or objections.

Revised Answer Key – How It Affects Your Score

  • KEA released the provisional answer keys for Paper I and Paper II on 12 October 2026
  • Candidates could raise objections till 14 October 2026, 10:30 AM
  • After checking the objections, KEA published the revised answer keys on 23 October 2026
  • The provisional score list was prepared after this review, so your marks are based on the revised keys

If you compare your own answers with the revised key, you can roughly check your score, but the official score list is the one that counts.

Important Notice for SCA, SCB and SCC Category Candidates

  • KEA issued a separate notice on 23 October 2026 for candidates of the SCA, SCB and SCC categories
  • These candidates must submit their category details online through the official KEA recruitment portal
  • The submission facility opens on 28 October 2026 at 10:00 AM
  • The last date of submission is not officially available yet
  • This is only a category-information process. It is not a chance to challenge your marks

Keep your caste certificate, application number and mobile number ready before the link opens. Check the KEA website daily, so that you do not miss the last date when it is announced.

Score List Objections – What We Know

  • KEA’s notice dated 24 October 2026 includes an online form for objections to the score list
  • At the time of the report, the form was not accepting responses
  • Please keep checking the official website for new instructions about raising objections
  • If you have an objection, keep proof ready, such as your application details and a copy of your score list

KSET 2026 Qualifying Marks

Category Minimum Aggregate Marks
General / Unreserved 40%
Reserved Categories (SC, ST, OBC, PwD) 35%

What this means in numbers: The KSET exam is of 300 marks (Paper I: 100 marks and Paper II: 200 marks). If the minimum aggregate is 40%, a General category candidate needs about 120 marks. For 35%, a reserved category candidate needs about 105 marks.

This calculation is our simple example based on the exam pattern. Please check the official notification for the exact rules.

The 6% Rule Explained in Simple Words

  • KSET follows the State Eligibility Test framework, where only about 6 percent of the candidates who appear in a subject are declared qualified, as reported by education portals
  • To be counted, a candidate must first get the minimum aggregate marks (40% or 35% as shown above)
  • After that, candidates are ranked subject-wise and category-wise, and the top ones fill the qualifying slots
  • So the cut-off is not a fixed number. It changes every year and is different for every subject and category
  • This is why a high score in a tough subject can be needed, while a lower score may be enough in a subject where fewer candidates appeared

Simple example: If 1,000 candidates appeared in a subject, about 60 candidates may qualify, if they have also crossed the minimum marks. This is only an example to explain the idea.

Note: KEA has not yet published the final subject-wise cut-off for 2026. Do not believe unofficial cut-off lists on social media.

KSET 2026 Exam Pattern – Easy Table

Paper Content Questions Marks
Paper I Teaching and Research Aptitude (common for all subjects) 50 100
Paper II Subject chosen by the candidate (37 subjects) 100 200
Total 150 300

The exam was held in OMR mode on 11 October 2026 from 10 AM to 1 PM. Candidates were not allowed to leave the centre before 1 PM.

What Happens After the KSET Result?

  1. Provisional score list – released on 26 October 2026
  2. Category details – SCA, SCB and SCC candidates submit details from 28 October 2026
  3. Final qualified list – to be announced by KEA
  4. KSET eligibility certificate – given to qualified candidates, after verification
  5. Apply for Assistant Professor posts – as per the notifications of universities and colleges in Karnataka

KSET is an eligibility test. It is not a direct recruitment exam, and there is no interview or counselling after the result.

KSET Eligibility Certificate – Key Facts

  • The certificate shows that you are eligible to apply for Assistant Professor posts
  • As per education portals and UGC rules, the certificate is valid for a lifetime
  • KSET is meant for jobs in Karnataka. It is not for jobs outside the state
  • Candidates who have already qualified KSET in a subject cannot appear again in the same subject
  • There is no upper age limit for KSET, as reported by education portals
  • You still need to apply separately to each university or college for a job. KSET does not give you a job by itself

Documents to Keep Ready (Indicative List)

  • KSET 2026 score list printout and application form copy
  • Date of birth proof, such as Class 10 certificate
  • Government photo ID
  • Master’s degree pass certificate and all mark sheets
  • Valid category or PwD certificate, if applicable
  • Recent passport-size photographs

KEA has not yet published an official checklist for after the result. This list is a guide only. Follow the official notice when it comes.

If You Did Not See Your Result or Found a Mistake

Problem What You Can Do
Result page is slow Try again early in the morning or late at night. Do not refresh again and again
Login details not working Check your application number and date of birth. Type them carefully
Wrong name, subject or category Take a screenshot and follow KEA’s instructions for correction or objection
Marks look different from your estimate Check the revised answer key of 23 October 2026, because the score list is based on it
Not sure about the next step Read the official KEA notices and do not depend on unofficial groups

KSET vs UGC NET vs Kerala SET – A Simple Comparison

Point KSET UGC NET
Conducted by KEA, Karnataka National agency under UGC
Valid for Assistant Professor jobs in Karnataka Assistant Professor jobs across India (and JRF if qualified)
Certificate validity Lifetime, as reported Lifetime for Assistant Professor eligibility
Qualifying idea Minimum marks plus top 6% in each subject and category Minimum marks plus a fixed percentage of candidates

The comparison is a general guide. Always check the latest official rules before you take any career decision.

Quick Self-Check: Where Do You Stand?

Your Total Marks (out of 300) What It May Mean
Below about 105 Below the minimum for reserved categories, so you are unlikely to qualify this time
About 105 to 119 May be above the minimum for reserved categories, but not for General. Ranking in your subject will matter
120 and above Above the minimum for all categories. Qualification now depends on your rank in your subject and category

This table is only a simple guide based on the 40% and 35% minimum marks. The final result depends on the official cut-off.

Your Checklist for the Next 7 Days

Day What to Do
26 Oct Check your score list, take a screenshot and save the PDF
27 Oct Compare your marks with the revised answer key. Note anything that looks wrong
28 Oct SCA, SCB and SCC candidates: submit category details after 10:00 AM
29 to 31 Oct Check the KEA website daily for the final list, cut-off or objection form
1 to 2 Nov Prepare your documents and start planning your next steps

Why Cut-Offs Are Different for Each Subject

  • Subjects with a large number of candidates have more qualifying slots, but also more competition
  • The paper difficulty can change from subject to subject
  • Reservation rules create separate lists for each category
  • Because of these points, comparing your marks with a friend of another subject can give a wrong idea
  • Always compare your marks only with the official cut-off of your own subject and category

If You Qualify – Your Next 5 Steps

  • Download and save your score list and later your eligibility certificate in two places (phone and e-mail)
  • Keep scanned copies of your degree, mark sheets and category certificate
  • Watch the recruitment notices of Karnataka universities, government colleges and aided colleges
  • Prepare a clear CV with your degree, subject and any teaching or research experience
  • Read the eligibility rules of each job notice. Some jobs may also ask for extra conditions

If You Did Not Qualify – Do Not Lose Hope

  • The 6% rule makes KSET very competitive, so many good candidates miss it by a few marks
  • Study your Paper I and Paper II marks and find where you lost marks
  • Start early for the next KSET. Read the syllabus again and practise previous year papers
  • Strengthen Paper I (Teaching and Research Aptitude), because it is common and carries 100 marks
  • You can also think about UGC NET, other State Eligibility Tests or a PhD route, as per the latest rules

Smart Preparation Tips for the Next KSET

  • Make a yearly plan, with half of your time for your Paper II subject and the rest for Paper I
  • Take at least 20 full mock papers in OMR style before the exam
  • Revise short notes every week
  • Practise accuracy, because the competition is subject-wise
  • Read the official KEA notices regularly so that you never miss a date

Common Mistakes Candidates Make After the Result

  • Believing unofficial cut-off lists and telling others that they have qualified or failed
  • Missing the category details link for SCA, SCB and SCC candidates
  • Not saving a copy of the score list
  • Forgetting that this score list is provisional and not the final result
  • Giving personal details to unknown websites that promise a “certificate”
