PSSSB Group D Answer Key 2026 — Latest Update (As on 26 October 2026)

The Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board (PSSSB) has released the provisional answer key of the Group D written exam on 25 October 2026, the same day as the exam. The key is available as four separate PDFs for Set A, Set B, Set C and Set D on sssb.punjab.gov.in. This exam was held under Advertisement No. 04/2026 for the Group D recruitment of about 2,098 posts.

The board has also opened the objection window. You can send your objections from 26 October to 28 October 2026, up to 5:00 PM. The most important rule is that objections must be sent only by email, using the Annexure-1 Grievance Form, with a separate form for each question and supporting proof. Late objections and objections sent in any other way will not be entertained. Today is 26 October, so you have 3 days left including today.

Please remember that this key is provisional. The board will review all objections through an expert committee and then publish a final key and the result. So use this key to estimate your marks and plan your next step, but do not treat your estimated score as final.

How to Raise an Objection Against PSSSB Group D Answer Key 2026

  1. Download the objection notice and the Annexure-1 Grievance Form from the official website
  2. Fill in the advertisement number, post name, your details and the question booklet series
  3. Write the question number, the provisional answer shown in the key, and the answer you claim is correct
  4. Explain the nature of your objection and give a clear reason
  5. Attach supporting proof, such as textbook pages or other documentary evidence
  6. Use a separate grievance form for each question
  7. Scan the forms and the proof, and email them to the address given in the board’s notice before 5:00 PM on 28 October 2026
  8. Check the notice carefully for any fee or other instruction, as explained below

Important Rules for Objections

  • Objections are accepted only by email. Other modes will not be entertained, as per the board’s notice
  • Objections received after the deadline will not be entertained
  • You must use the prescribed Annexure-1 Grievance Form, and a separate form for each question
  • Your objection should have documentary evidence like textbook references
  • In earlier PSSSB notices (for other exams), the board also asked for a fee of ₹50 per question through a demand draft payable at Mohali. The reference page for this Group D key does not mention a fee, so please read the latest notice to see whether any fee applies
  • The objections are reviewed by the expert committee, and its decision is final and binding
  • Objections will not be accepted after the final answer key is published

How to Calculate Your Expected Marks

  1. Take the answer key PDF of your own set
  2. Count the questions where your answer matches the key. These are your correct answers
  3. Count the questions where your answer is different. These are your wrong answers
  4. Apply the formula: Expected Marks = Correct Answers − (Wrong Answers × 0.25)
  5. Example: 100 correct, 30 wrong, 20 unattempted → 100 − (30 × 0.25) = 100 − 7.5 = 92.5 marks
  6. Calculate the merit-based part separately. The Punjabi language test (Part A) is only qualifying, so its marks are not added to the merit
  7. Remember that deleted or changed questions in the final key can change your marks

Exam Pattern — What Reports Say

  • The paper is offline (OMR-based) and objective type
  • As per reports of the earlier Group D exam in 2026, the paper had 150 questions in total
  • Part A — Punjabi Language: Qualifying test. You must clear it to be considered for the merit list
  • Part B — Merit Part: General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Logical Reasoning, English, Punjab History and Culture, and ICT, as per reports
  • Marking in the merit part: 1 mark for each correct answer and 0.25 mark deducted for each wrong answer
  • Please check the original advertisement (04/2026) and your admit card for the exact number of questions and marks for this exam

How to Use the Answer Key Smartly

  • Always check your set number first. Using the wrong set gives a completely wrong score
  • Mark the doubtful questions in a notebook before you decide to object
  • Check your doubtful questions in Punjab school textbooks (PSEB), NCERT and standard books
  • Object only if you are sure and you have proof. A wrong or weak objection wastes time and money
  • Do not argue about matters of opinion. Raise objections only for factual errors
  • Keep a screenshot or copy of every email that you send, with the date and time visible
  • Wait for the final key before you rely on any cut-off or rank guess

Final Answer Key and What Comes Next

  • After the objection window, the board’s expert committee will review all objections
  • Some answers may be changed, and some questions may be dropped or revised, as per the board’s rules
  • The board will then publish the final answer key, and the result will be prepared from it
  • In the earlier Group D cycle, the result of the written test came about 3 weeks after the exam, and the final merit list came after a few months. This is only a rough guide and the new schedule will be announced by PSSSB
  • Candidates who qualify will be called for the next stage, such as document verification or counselling, as per the notice
  • Keep your documents ready: Matric certificate with Punjabi, ID proof, category certificate, residence proof and photographs

What To Do While You Wait for the Result

  • Keep your admit card, question booklet details and OMR copy safe
  • Collect or renew your certificates (category, residence, etc.), because delays can cause problems later
  • Keep checking sssb.punjab.gov.in every day for notices
  • Keep preparing for other Punjab and central exams, so that you have more chances
  • Avoid fake groups and agents who promise “sure selection” or a “marks increase”. This is a scam
  • Stay calm and positive. Group D recruitment has many candidates, so the final cut-off may change
  • Use this time to revise Punjabi grammar, Punjab history, current affairs and basic reasoning, in case there is another stage or a similar exam soon
  • Share correct information with friends and family, and do not forward unverified marks lists or cut-off numbers from social media

Sample Format — How to Write an Objection Clearly

  • Advertisement No. and Post: 04/2026 — Group D
  • Question Booklet Series: Write your set (A, B, C or D)
  • Question Number: Write the number exactly as in your set
  • Published Provisional Answer: Write the option given in the board’s key
  • Answer Claimed as Correct: Write the option you believe is correct
  • Nature of Objection: For example, “wrong option given in the key”, “question has more than one correct answer” or “question is wrong or incomplete”
  • Explanation: Write 3–4 simple lines with the reason, and mention the book name, class, chapter and page number
  • Proof: Attach a clear scan or photo of the page. Keep each question’s proof separate
  • Keep your language polite and short. Do not write personal complaints or unrelated points

Why Do Some Answers Change in the Final Key?

  • Sometimes the first key has a typing or option-matching mistake
  • Some questions may have two correct options or none, because of unclear wording
  • Some facts may differ between books. The committee decides which source is accepted
  • Current affairs questions may have changed facts. The committee checks the date of the event and the source
  • When a question is found wrong, the board may drop it or accept another option, as per its rules
  • This is why it is important to give clear proof when you object

How Competitive Is the Group D Exam? Simple Reality Check

  • Group D posts need only Matric-level education, so a very large number of candidates apply
  • The recruitment has around 2,098 posts, but lakhs of candidates may have appeared, so the cut-off can be high
  • The merit is decided on the marks of the merit part, so every mark matters, including a few marks from the objection process
  • Tie-breaking rules, as given in earlier Group D notices, give preference to higher education percentage and age, and may apply in this recruitment too
  • Do not feel discouraged if your estimated score is low. Wait for the final key and the actual cut-off
  • Make a plan for other exams in the coming months, such as Punjab Police, PSSSB Clerk and other state recruitments

Tips for the Next Stage (After Result)

  • Keep your Matric certificate with Punjabi ready, because Punjabi at Matric level is compulsory for Punjab government jobs
  • Get your category certificate in the correct format. If it is old, check whether a fresh one is needed
  • Keep your Punjab residence or domicile proof ready if asked in the notice
  • Prepare self-attested copies and a few passport-size photographs
  • Keep your application form printout and fee receipt
  • Check the exact documents list on the board’s website when the notice comes, and follow it fully
  • Never submit false or edited documents. It can cancel your candidature and lead to legal action

Common Problems and Easy Solutions

  • Answer key PDF not opening: Try Chrome on a laptop or another network
  • Website slow: Try early morning or late night
  • I forgot my set number: It is printed on your question booklet. If you do not have it, check the set printed on your OMR sheet copy
  • Not able to find the Annexure-1 form: Open the objection notice on the website. The form is attached to the notice
  • Do not know the email address: The address is given in the official objection notice. Do not use any other email from social media posts
  • Not sure whether I need to pay a fee: Read the objection notice fully. If it asks for a fee or demand draft, follow the instructions exactly
  • Missed the deadline: Late objections are not accepted. Wait for the final key and result

Important Warnings

  • Use only the official website sssb.punjab.gov.in for the answer key, form and notice
  • Do not send objections by any other method than the one given in the notice
  • Do not share your roll number, OTP or personal details with unknown people
  • PSSSB does not take money for selection. Ignore anyone who says otherwise
  • Details can change. If anything in this article differs from the official notice, follow the official notice
