Why Was the Result Waiting? What Has Changed?

  • The merit lists are prepared against category-wise vacancies. So the final vacancy numbers must be fixed first
  • WBSSC reopened the portal from 27 to 29 October 2026 so that candidates could correct their OBC sub-category, UR status and PwBD details
  • On 29 October 2026, the Commission published a revised category-wise and region-wise vacancy statement
  • The category edit window is closed, and WBSSC has said that no further requests will be accepted, as reported
  • With these steps done, the result is expected in the coming days or weeks, but this is an expectation and not an official date

Revised Vacancy 2026 — Region-Wise

Region Clerk (Group C) | Group D
Eastern 717 | 995
Northern 615 | 1,606
South Eastern 443 | 534
Southern 491 | 680
Western 723 | 1,673
Total 2,989 | 5,488
Note: The total is 8,477. Some earlier pages show 8,478. The revised statement lists 8,477, so please rely on the latest official document. The category-wise, medium-wise and gender-wise breakup is in the revised vacancy PDF on westbengalssc.com.

What the Vacancy Numbers Tell Us (Our Calculation)

  • Group D has about 64.7% of the posts (5,488 of 8,477), and Clerk has about 35.3% (2,989 of 8,477)
  • The Western region has the most posts, 2,396 (about 28.3%), followed by the Northern region with 2,221 (about 26.2%)
  • The Eastern region has 1,712 posts (about 20.2%), the Southern region 1,171 (about 13.8%), and the South Eastern region 977 (about 11.5%)
  • The Group D to Clerk ratio is highest in the Northern region (1,606 against 615), so Group D candidates of that region have more posts to compete for
  • These are only vacancy numbers. The number of candidates who appeared in each region also decides the cut-off

Where and How to Check the Result (Once It Is Out)

Official Website (Result Section) westbengalssc.com
Result Link Not active yet. It will appear on the homepage of the official website
Note: We have not given any ‘direct result link’, because the result is not released yet. Please do not trust links shared on social media.

How to Check the Result (Step by Step, After Release)

  • Visit the official WBSSC website westbengalssc.com
  • On the homepage, look for the link “Result of 1st SLST (Non-Teaching Staff) 2025 – Group C / Group D”
  • Click the link for your post: Clerk or Group D
  • Enter your registration or roll number and date of birth, if a login is needed
  • Your result or the merit list PDF will open
  • Press Ctrl + F and search your roll number in the PDF
  • Download and save the result for your record

What Will Be Shown on the Merit List? (Expected)

  • Your name and roll number
  • Your category: UR, SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, EWS or PwBD
  • The post: Clerk or Group D
  • Your region
  • Your marks in the written exam
  • Whether you are qualified for the next stage
Note: This is what Karmasandhan reports. The exact format will be known only after WBSSC publishes the result.

What Decides the WBSSC Group C D Cut Off?

  • The number of candidates who appeared in each region
  • The revised category-wise vacancies, including the revised OBC-A and OBC-B numbers
  • The difficulty of the written exam
  • The ratio of candidates that the Commission calls for the interview
  • Because candidates could correct their OBC sub-category and UR status, the cut-offs of OBC and UR categories may be different from what many expected earlier

Beware of Unofficial ‘Expected Cut Off’ Numbers

  • Many websites show expected cut-off tables. These are the guesses of those websites, and WBSSC has not published any official cut-off yet
  • Different websites show different numbers, which proves that they are only estimates
  • Do not decide that you have passed or failed by comparing your marks with these guesses
  • Wait for the official cut-off on westbengalssc.com. It will be category-wise and, as reported, linked to the result

WBSSC Group C and D Selection Process

Post Stage 1 | Stage 2 | Final Stage
Clerk (Group C) Written exam | Interview, including the typing-cum-computer proficiency test | Document verification
Group D Staff Written exam | Interview | Document verification
Note: As per the notification summary reported earlier, the selection of Group D staff is made on the basis of the written exam, prior similar experience and interview. Please read the recruitment rules for the final marks scheme.

How to Prepare for the Interview While You Wait (Our Suggestions)

  • Know your application. Read your own form again. Interview questions often come from your education, experience and hobbies
  • Know the job. Learn what a Clerk or a Group D staff member does in a school, such as records, files, registers and student support
  • Revise West Bengal basics: districts, important schemes, current affairs and the education system of the state
  • Practise answering simply. Speak in short, clear sentences. Be honest. Do not guess wildly
  • Dress and behave in a simple, formal way, and reach the venue early on the day
  • For Clerk candidates: practise typing in English and Bengali and basic computer skills such as MS Word, Excel and email

Documents to Keep Ready (Our Suggestion)

WBSSC will announce the exact list with the interview call letter.

  • Your admit card of the written exam
  • Madhyamik / HS / graduation certificates and marksheets
  • Category certificate, as updated in the edit window
  • PwBD certificate, if applicable
  • Experience certificates, if you have any
  • Photo ID and several passport-size photographs
  • Self-attested photocopies of all of the above

Your 7-Day Plan While You Wait (Our Suggestion)

  • Day 1: Check your registration details, category and region. Keep your admit card safe
  • Day 2: Collect all documents and make self-attested copies
  • Day 3 to 4: Practise typing for 30 minutes a day (Clerk). Revise basic computer skills
  • Day 5: Read about West Bengal current affairs and the job profile
  • Day 6: Practise a mock interview with a friend or family member

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Believing that the result is already out because of a heading on a website
  • Clicking on fake result links sent on WhatsApp or Telegram

  • Trying to change the category after the edit window has closed
  • Not keeping your documents and admit card ready
  • Believing agents who promise a job or interview marks for money. Nobody can do this
