FMGE October 2026 City Slip — Latest Update (As on 21 October 2026)
|
| NBEMS has released the FMGE October 2026 City Intimation Slip on 20 October 2026. Registered candidates can now log in to natboard.edu.in and see which city has been allotted to them for the exam. The exam will be held on 31 October 2026, which means you have only 10 days left.
The city slip only tells you your exam city. It is not your admit card. The admit card, which shows your exact test centre, shift and reporting time, will come on 27 October 2026, four days before the exam. So please do not go to a centre with only the city slip.
If you are travelling from another city or state, you should book your tickets and stay right now. Do not wait for the admit card. Cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai can get very crowded before the exam, and hotels and trains fill up fast. FMGE is held in around 75 test cities, so check your allotted city carefully. |

Details You Will See on the City Intimation Slip

- Candidate name and application / registration details
- Allotted exam city for the October 2026 session
- Exam name and exam date
- Basic instructions for the candidate
|
City Slip vs Admit Card — Know the Difference
- City Slip: Tells you the city so you can plan travel. It is not an entry pass
- Admit Card: Tells you the exact centre, shift, reporting time and instructions. It is the main document for entry
- You must carry the printed admit card and a valid photo ID on exam day
- City slip is only for planning. Do not rely on it for entry to the exam hall
|
FMGE Exam Pattern — Simple Overview
- Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT), English medium
- Total questions: 300 MCQs — 1 mark each — 300 marks
- Two parts: Part A (150 questions) and Part B (150 questions)
- Time: 150 minutes for each part — total 5 hours — with a break in between
- Both parts are held on the same day
- No negative marking — so you should attempt all questions
- Passing marks: 150 out of 300 (50%). It is a pass / fail screening exam, so there is no rank or merit list
- Subjects: Pre-clinical, para-clinical and clinical subjects of MBBS, as per the NBEMS syllabus
|
Shift Timings (As Per Reports)
- Part A / Morning shift: about 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM
- Part B / Afternoon shift: about 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM
- Your reporting time and gate closing time will be printed on the admit card. Always follow the admit card
- Plan to reach the centre much earlier than the reporting time to avoid last-minute stress
|
Documents to Carry on Exam Day (FMGE 2026)
- Printed admit card (available from 27 October 2026)
- Original valid photo ID proof as mentioned in the admit card instructions (such as Aadhaar, Passport, PAN or Driving Licence)
- Any other document mentioned in the admit card or official instructions
- Do not carry mobile phone, smart watch, calculator, notes, bags or any electronic item to the exam hall. Follow the centre locker rules, if any
- Wear simple clothes and avoid heavy jewellery or items that can create problems in security checks
|
Last 10 Days Study Plan for FMGE (31 October)
- Days 1–3: Revise high-weightage subjects like Medicine, Surgery, OBG, Pediatrics and Community Medicine, using short notes
- Days 4–5: Revise Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology and Forensic Medicine with image-based and previous-year style questions
- Days 6–7: Revise Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry and the short subjects such as ENT, Ophthalmology, Dermatology and Psychiatry
- Days 8–9: Take two full-length 300-question mock tests in exam timing, 150 questions in 150 minutes for each part
- Day 10: Light revision only. Check your documents, route and sleep early
- Practise on a computer, not only on paper, so you are comfortable with screen reading and the on-screen tools
- Do not start new books. Focus on revision and your weak areas
|
Exam Day Tips for FMGE
- Reach the centre early with your admit card and original ID
- Because there is no negative marking, do not leave any question blank. Mark an intelligent guess if you are unsure
- Questions are in time-bound sections, and you cannot go back after a section time is over (as per reports). So do not spend too long on one question
- Divide time evenly: about 1 minute per question leaves some time to review
- Read the question carefully, especially words like “EXCEPT”, “NOT” and “most common”
- Take the break between Part A and Part B properly. Eat light and drink water, and stay calm
- Follow all instructions from the exam staff and never try to use unfair means
|
Travel and Stay Tips for Outstation Candidates
- Book train or flight tickets today. Last-minute prices can rise very fast
- Choose a stay near your exam city centre or near a metro / bus line so the next day travel is easy
- Travel one day before the exam, if possible, so that you have time to rest
- After the admit card comes on 27 October, check the centre address on a map and plan your route
- Keep extra cash and a power bank, but remember that electronic items are not allowed inside the exam hall
- Carry printed copies of your admit card and ID, and keep soft copies in your phone and email
|
Important Rules to Remember
- The October exam is optional. If you are not ready, you can skip it and apply for the next session in early 2027, as per reports
- There is no limit on the number of attempts, as per reports
- There is no re-totalling, no re-evaluation and no grace marks, as per a report, so prepare well
- Part-wise marks are not published separately, as per reports
- Read the NBEMS notices carefully. If anything differs from what is written here, follow the official notice
|
What Is FMGE and Why Is It Important?
- FMGE is a screening test for Indian citizens and overseas citizens of India who have a primary medical degree from outside India and want to practise medicine in India
- Passing this exam is a must before getting registration with the medical council, as per the rules of the National Medical Commission
- It is a pass / fail test. Your score does not decide a rank, so you only need to reach the passing mark
- NBEMS conducts the exam, and the pass certificate is issued after the result is declared
- Please read the official information bulletin for eligibility, internship rules and other conditions
|
After the Exam — What Happens Next?
- Answer key / question challenge: As per reports, candidates can challenge questions for two days after the exam. Keep your notes about doubtful questions
- Result: Expected by 30 November 2026 on natboard.edu.in. Download and save the result
- Pass certificate: If you score 150 or more out of 300, NBEMS will give the FMGE pass certificate after the result
- Next step for qualified candidates: Apply for registration with the relevant medical council, with the required documents
- If you do not qualify: You can try again in the next session. Check your weak subjects and make a better plan
- Always follow the official notices for dates, steps and fees
|
Mock Test Strategy for the Last Week
- Take one full mock test every alternate day in the same time slot as your exam shift
- After each test, spend more time on analysing mistakes than on giving the next test
- Make a “mistake notebook” with 10–15 lines of notes for each wrong concept
- Practise image-based questions, such as X-rays, ECGs, histology and clinical photographs
- Practise attempting all 150 questions in each part within 150 minutes. Speed matters in a no-negative-marking exam
|
Common Problems and Easy Solutions
- Cannot find the city slip link: Log in to the correct October 2026 applicant account and check the dashboard
- Login not working: Use the “Forgot Password” option and check your registered email and mobile number
- Website slow: Try early morning or late night, or use another browser
- City not suitable: Check the official notice for any rule on city change. Do not trust unofficial claims
- Mistake in name or details: Contact NBEMS using the official helpdesk details with your proof
- PDF not downloading: Use Chrome on a laptop and allow pop-ups for the website
|
Important Warnings
- Use only natboard.edu.in for the city slip, admit card and result
- Do not share your User ID, password or OTP with anyone, even if they say they are from “NBEMS support”
- Beware of fake agents who promise leaked papers or guaranteed pass. This is illegal and can ruin your career
- Keep checking the NBEMS website for notices until the exam day
