IBPS SO Score Card 2026 — Latest Update (As on 22 October 2026)

IBPS declared the IBPS SO Prelims Result 2026 on 15 October 2026. Candidates who appeared in the exam held on 29 August 2026 can check their result status and download their scorecard from the IBPS website ibps.in. As per reports, the result link and scorecard are available from 15 October to 22 October 2026, which means today is the last day to download.

Please note that some websites describe the scorecard and cut-off as “expected in the third week of October”, while other sites say the scorecard can already be downloaded with the result. In earlier IBPS SO cycles, the scorecard with cut-offs came about a week after the result (for example, 2024: result on 3 December and scorecard on 11 December; 2022: result on 17 January and scorecard on 24 January). So if you do not see your detailed marks today, check the same login link again tonight and tomorrow, and read any new notice on ibps.in.

The good news is that the next stage is already open for qualified candidates. IBPS has also released the Mains admit card on 22 October 2026, and the Mains exam is on 1 November 2026. This guide explains how to download your scorecard, how to understand your marks, and what you should do in the next 10 days.

What Is Written on the IBPS SO Scorecard?

The above details were printed on IBPS SO scorecards in earlier years. This year’s scorecard may be shown in the same style, but please read the exact layout on your screen.

  • Candidate name, roll number and registration number
  • Category and the post applied for
  • Date of the exam
  • Marks in each section (English, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude or General Awareness, and Professional Knowledge)
  • Total marks out of 125
  • Cut-off marks — sectional and overall — as given by IBPS
  • Result status — qualified or not qualified for the Mains
IBPS SO Prelims 2026 — Pattern (IT, AFO, HR, Marketing) Questions | Marks | Time
English Language 25 | 25 | 20 minutes
Reasoning 25 | 25 | 20 minutes
Quantitative Aptitude 25 | 25 | 20 minutes
Professional Knowledge (new in 2026) 25 | 50 | 20 minutes
Total 100 | 125 | 80 minutes
Note: For Law Officer and Rajbhasha Adhikari, General Awareness with special reference to the banking industry replaces Quantitative Aptitude. As per the notification overview, negative marking is 0.25 mark for each wrong answer. Prelims is only qualifying, and its marks are not added to the final merit.

How to Read Your Scorecard — Simple Guide

  • Sectional marks: Marks you scored in each of the four sections. IBPS has a minimum cut-off for each section
  • Total marks: Your overall score out of 125
  • Sectional cut-off: You must clear the minimum marks in every section. If you miss even one, you may not qualify, even if your total is high
  • Overall cut-off: After clearing the sectional cut-offs, your total marks are compared with the overall cut-off for your post and category
  • As per the 2024 official notice, IBPS applies the cut-offs in two stages: first on individual tests, then on the total score. The same logic is expected in 2026
  • Cut-offs can be different for each post and category (General, EWS, OBC, SC, ST and PwBD)
  • Check the exact cut-offs on your scorecard or the official cut-off PDF. Do not trust unofficial numbers

Calculate Your Prelims Score Yourself

  • English, Reasoning and Quant / GA: 1 mark for each correct answer
  • Professional Knowledge: 2 marks for each correct answer (25 questions for 50 marks)
  • Negative marking: 0.25 mark is cut for each wrong answer, as per reports
  • Total = (English correct + Reasoning correct + Quant/GA correct) + (2 × PK correct) − (0.25 × wrong answers)
  • Example: English 18, Reasoning 15, Quant 12, PK 15 correct, and 12 wrong answers → 45 + 30 − 3 = 72 marks out of 125
  • Use this only to understand your score. Your official scorecard is the final proof

Qualified for Mains? What to Do Next

  • Download the Mains admit card from ibps.in. It was released on 22 October 2026
  • Check your exam date, shift, reporting time and centre. Mains is on 1 November 2026
  • Start the last 10-day plan: revise Professional Knowledge for your post, and practise English, Reasoning, Quant / GA and the Descriptive paper
  • Take 1 full mock test in exam timing every alternate day
  • Arrange your original ID proof and photocopies, as mentioned in the call letter
  • Book tickets and stay early if your centre is in another city

Mains Exam Pattern — Quick Reminder

  • Reports show a revised Mains pattern of about 152 questions for 225 marks in around 155 minutes
  • Sections: English (30 marks), Reasoning (40 marks), Quant / General Awareness (30 marks), Professional Knowledge Objective (50 questions, 100 marks) and a Descriptive Paper (25 marks)
  • As per reports, final merit uses Mains Professional Knowledge marks and Interview marks in an 80:20 ratio
  • Some websites still show an older 85-question pattern. Please follow the pattern written on your admit card and the official notification

Not Qualified? Do Not Lose Hope

  • First, check your sectional marks. See which section was weak, so that you can improve in the next exam
  • Check your post and category cut-offs, and note how far you were from the cut-off
  • Professional Knowledge was added to the prelims this year. Many candidates found it new, so use this experience in the next cycle
  • IBPS conducts SO recruitment every year. Start a long-term plan with domain subjects, English and Reasoning
  • You can also apply for other bank and government exams that match your degree (for example, IBPS PO / Clerk, SBI, RBI and insurance exams)
  • Keep your scorecard for your own record to compare with the next year’s performance
Earlier IBPS SO Cycle Result and Scorecard Timeline (From Reports)
IBPS SO 2022 cycle Prelims result: 17 January 2023 | Scorecard: 24 January 2023 | Download till 29 January 2023
IBPS SO 2024 cycle Prelims result: 3 December 2024 | Scorecard with cut-offs: 11 December 2024 | Download till 18 December 2024
IBPS SO 2026 cycle Prelims result: 15 October 2026 | Result and scorecard link: 15 to 22 October 2026, as per reports
Why this table matters: In earlier years, IBPS gave the scorecard about a week after the result and kept the link open for about a week. This year the window is reported as 15 to 22 October. So please download your scorecard today, because the link can close at any time on the last day.

Why Do Cut-offs Change Every Year?

  • Difficulty level: A tougher paper usually lowers the cut-off, and an easier paper raises it
  • Number of candidates: More competition for fewer posts pushes the cut-off up
  • Number of vacancies: Posts like IT Officer have more vacancies and may have different cut-offs from Law Officer or Rajbhasha Adhikari
  • New pattern: Professional Knowledge is added to the prelims this year, so results may look different from earlier years
  • Category rules: Each category has its own cut-off, as per the reservation rules
  • This is why you should not compare your marks with last year’s cut-off. Always use this year’s official cut-off

Myths and Facts About the IBPS SO Scorecard

  • Myth: Prelims marks decide my final selection. Fact: Prelims is only qualifying, and final merit is based on Mains and Interview, as per reports
  • Myth: High total marks always mean qualified. Fact: You must also clear the sectional cut-offs
  • Myth: Someone can increase my marks for money. Fact: This is false, and it is a scam
  • Myth: I can download the scorecard anytime later. Fact: IBPS keeps the link active for a limited time only
  • Myth: All posts have the same cut-off. Fact: Cut-offs are post-wise and category-wise

Your 10-Day Mains Plan Starting Today (22 Oct to 1 Nov)

  • 22 Oct: Save the scorecard, download the Mains admit card and note your centre
  • 23–24 Oct: Revise Professional Knowledge basics for your post, using short notes and previous question papers
  • 25–26 Oct: Practise English (RC, cloze, error spotting) and Reasoning (puzzles and seating arrangements)
  • 27 Oct: Revise Quantitative Aptitude or General Awareness (for Law and Rajbhasha posts) and take a sectional test
  • 28 Oct: Write 2 descriptive answers (a letter and an essay) by typing them on a computer in 30 minutes
  • 29 Oct: Take a full mock test in exam timing and analyse every mistake
  • 30 Oct: Revise important laws, formulas, concepts and your error list
  • 31 Oct: Light revision, travel and rest. Keep your documents ready
  • 1 Nov: Exam day. Reach the centre early and stay calm

Interview Stage — A Quick Preview

  • The interview is a common interview conducted by participating banks with IBPS
  • It carries a smaller part of the final merit than the Mains, as per the reported 80:20 formula
  • Prepare your basic profile, your post-related knowledge, banking awareness, and current affairs
  • Keep original documents ready: ID proof, educational certificates, category certificate and other documents asked in the call letter
  • Be honest, calm and clear in your answers. Dress neatly and reach on time
  • Details of the interview date and call letter will come on ibps.in after the Mains result
  • Practise speaking your answers aloud in front of a mirror or with a friend, so that you sound confident and clear
  • Read banking news for the last 6 months, including RBI policy changes, digital banking and government schemes related to your post

If You Cannot Find Your Scorecard — Easy Solutions

  • Link not opening / site slow: Many candidates visit on the last day. Try early morning or late night. Do not wait for tomorrow if the link closes today
  • Login error: Use the same registration number and password or date of birth as in your application. Use “Forgot Password” if needed
  • Result shows, but no scorecard link: Detailed scorecards may be added separately. Check again later and read the notice on ibps.in
  • Link already closed: Check the official website for any new notice. Keep a note of your result status and roll number
  • Wrong details or marks: Contact IBPS through the official “Queries” link with proof
