  • One site reports that about 2,500 Special Teachers / Assistant Teachers (CWSN) are covered. We could not confirm this number in the official notice
  • If you are not in this group, your TET exam is a different one. Do not confuse it with the regular UP TET or Super TET
Note: A few sites describe wider eligibility, such as general D.El.Ed or B.Ed candidates. The details differ between sites, so please read the official notification, Advt. No. 03/2026, to be sure about your own eligibility.

What Is a TET? (Simple Explanation)

TET stands for Teacher Eligibility Test. It is a test that shows whether a person has the basic knowledge and skills needed to teach at a certain level. Passing a TET is usually a basic condition for being a teacher, but it does not by itself give a job.

The Special TET is for teachers who work with Children With Special Needs. That is why it focuses on special education and teaching aptitude. Please read the official notice to know how the result of this test will be used.

Why Does the City Slip Come Before the Admit Card?

  • Many candidates live far from the exam city. The slip gives them about 10 days to arrange tickets and stay
  • The commission usually finalises the exact centre, roll number and shift a few days before the exam. That information comes on the admit card
  • So the slip is only an early intimation. The exact centre can be seen only after you get the admit card

How to Fill the OMR Sheet Without Mistakes (Our Suggestions)

  • Use only the pen allowed in the instructions, and fill the bubble fully and darkly
  • Do not tick, cross or half-fill the bubble
  • Match the question number on the OMR sheet with the number in the question booklet before you mark
  • Do not use whitener, and avoid erasing or cutting. A changed answer can be rejected
  • Fill your roll number, test booklet number and other details carefully at the start
  • Keep the last 10 minutes to check every answer

Travel and Stay Tips for Candidates (Our Suggestions)

  • Book early. Many candidates will travel to the same six cities at the same time
  • If your exam city is far, reach one day before and stay near the city centre or near the railway station
  • Keep a printout of the city slip with you while travelling
  • Keep your phone charged and download the admit card on your phone as a backup, but carry a printout to the centre
  • Plan your return journey too, since the afternoon shift ends at 5:00 PM
  • Share your travel plan with a family member

Your Plan for the Next 9 Days (Our Suggestion)

  • 25 October (today): Download your city slip. Note your exam city. Read the official notice about the slip
  • 26 October: Plan your travel and stay. Book your train or bus ticket. Seats fill fast near an exam
  • 27 to 29 October: Revise child development, special education and teaching topics. Solve previous or sample questions
  • 30 October: Light revision. Arrange your ID proof, pens and other items
  • 31 October (expected): Download the admit card. Check the centre address, shift and reporting time. Take 2 printouts
  • 1 and 2 November: Travel to the exam city. Visit the centre once, if you can. Rest well
  • 3 November: Reach the centre early with the admit card and ID. Follow all instructions

Preparation Tips for Special Teachers (Our Suggestions, Not the Official Syllabus)

  • Download the detailed syllabus from the UPESSC website and make a topic checklist
  • Study child development and learning, inclusive education and teaching methods
  • Revise types of disabilities, assessment and teaching aids for children with special needs
  • Read about laws and policies for persons with disabilities that your syllabus lists
  • Practise mock tests in Hindi and English, and time yourself
  • Revise basic language and maths skills of primary and upper primary level
  • Learn how to fill an OMR sheet without a single mistake

Exam Day Checklist (Our Suggestion)

  • Printout of the admit card
  • Original photo ID as told on the admit card
  • Blue or black ball pens, if the instructions allow only these
  • A few passport-size photographs, if the admit card asks for them
  • Water and a light snack, if allowed
  • Reach the centre before the reporting time printed on the admit card

What If You Face a Problem?

  • Login does not work: Check your registration number and date of birth. Try your mobile number if the page asks for it
  • Page is slow: Try after some time. Evening hours are usually busy
  • Details on the slip look wrong: Read the UPESSC notice and contact the commission through official channels
  • Your city is far from home: Plan your stay early, since the commission is unlikely to change the city for individual requests
  • You are not sure which shift you have: Wait for the admit card. It will show your shift

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Thinking that the city slip is the admit card
  • Not downloading the admit card on time
  • Not checking the shift timing and reaching late
  • Going without the original photo ID
  • Booking travel too late and not finding a ticket
  • Believing exam rules and cut-off numbers shared on social media without a source
  • Believing agents who promise passing marks for money. Nobody can do this
