The notice is Notice No. 8 dated 20 October 2026. In total, 4,749 candidates have been shortlisted.

Why Is the CCAA Cut-off Different?

  • CCAA means Course Completed Act Apprentices — candidates who have completed Act Apprenticeship in the railways
  • For them, shortlisting uses 2/3 of the CBT normalized marks and 1/3 of scaled NCVT marks
  • That is why the CCAA cut-off is around 68 in all categories, while the cut-off for other general candidates changes from about 65 to 76 depending on the category
  • NCVT marks are added only for CCAA candidates. Everyone else is judged on CBT normalized marks
  • Ex-Servicemen have a separate and much lower cut-off in this list, because they are shortlisted in their own group

Documents to Carry for DV (General Guide)

  • Printout of the DV call letter and a valid photo ID (such as Aadhaar)
  • Class 10 (Matriculation) certificate or equivalent, for date of birth proof
  • ITI / NCVT / NAC certificate and marksheets, wherever required as educational qualification for your post
  • For CCAA candidates: Apprenticeship completion certificate and NCVT marksheet, since NCVT marks were used in your shortlisting
  • Category certificate (SC / ST / OBC-NCL / EWS) in the central government format, where applicable
  • Ex-Servicemen or PwBD certificates, where applicable
  • Recent passport-size photographs (carry extra copies)
  • Self-attested photocopies of all documents, along with the originals
  • The exact document list is given in your call letter and the main CEN 08/2024 notification. Always treat those as final

How to Prepare for Your DV Day

  • Collect all original documents today. If any certificate is missing or old, start the process to get a fresh copy
  • Check your name, father’s name and date of birth on every document. They must match your application
  • OBC-NCL and EWS certificates must be in the correct format and valid for the required period. Ask your issuing authority early if needed
  • Keep all documents in a clear folder in the same order as the call letter list
  • Plan your travel. Delhi, Ambala, Firozpur, Lucknow and Moradabad are the venues, so book tickets in advance
  • Reach the venue before the reporting time with call letter and ID in hand
  • Be polite, answer only what is asked, and follow the instructions of the officers
  • Never submit false or edited documents. It can lead to cancellation of candidature and legal action

What Happens After DV?

  • Document verification will check your educational qualification, age, category and other claims
  • Candidates who pass DV will be sent for the medical examination as per the railway medical standards for the post
  • After DV and medical, the RRC will prepare the final panel based on merit, vacancies and reservation
  • Selected candidates will be given appointment and training as per railway rules
  • Check the RRC NR website for each stage, because dates for the medical and final list are announced separately

If You Miss Your DV Date

  • A report says an extra DV date of 3 December 2026 is kept for candidates who are absent on their given date
  • Requests to change the DV date or venue are normally not accepted, as written in other RRC DV notices. Please read your call letter carefully
  • If you have a genuine emergency, contact the RRC through the contact details on the official website as soon as possible, with proof
  • Do not depend on rumours. Follow only the official notice and your e-mail / SMS

If Your Roll Number Is Not in the List

  • Check that you opened the right zone. This list is only for RRC Northern Railway. Other zones have their own lists
  • Search again with the full 16-digit roll number and also try the registration number
  • Compare your score with the cut-off for your category. If your marks are below the cut-off, you are not shortlisted in this list
  • Wait for further notices. Railways sometimes release additional or replacement lists, as per vacancies
  • Keep your documents ready in case a further list comes

Smart Tips for Group D Aspirants

  • Do not believe messages that promise a job for money. Railway recruitment is completely free of such payments
  • Use only the official website www.rrcnr.org for notices and call letters
  • Keep your mobile number and e-mail active, because the call letter intimation comes there
  • Take a screenshot or PDF of the roll list page showing your roll number for your record
  • Prepare for the medical standard too. Check the basic health and vision requirements for your post
  • Stay in touch with official updates for your zone and also keep an eye on other zones if you had applied in more than one

Your 12-Day Action Plan Before DV Starts (2 November)

  • Today (21 Oct): Download the notice, roll list and cut-off PDFs. Find your roll number, date and venue
  • 22–24 Oct: Make a list of all documents needed and check which ones are missing or have wrong spellings
  • 25–28 Oct: Apply for fresh certificates if needed (category, ITI / NCVT duplicates, character or other documents mentioned in the notification)
  • 29–31 Oct: Take photocopies, self-attest them, arrange photographs and keep everything in one folder
  • Before your date: Download your call letter as soon as the link opens, read all instructions, and book your travel
  • One day before: Reach the DV city, check the venue route, and rest well
  • Keep one extra set of photocopies and photographs, because small shortages can cause delay on the day

Common Problems and Easy Solutions

  • Website slow or not opening: Many candidates visit together. Try early morning or late night
  • PDF is big and slow: Download it on a laptop or a fast network, and then search with Ctrl + F
  • Cannot find my roll number: Try without spaces and also check the other cut-off and notice PDFs
  • Call letter not available yet: It is usually available a few days before your DV date. Keep checking the website and e-mail
  • Wrong category or detail in the list: Write to RRC with proof and mention your roll number
  • Date clash with another exam: Contact RRC with proof. Do not just stay absent

Important Warnings

  • This article is based on reports of the official notice dated 20 October 2026. Please confirm your date, venue and cut-off from the official PDFs on www.rrcnr.org
  • Being shortlisted for DV is not a guarantee of appointment
  • Do not share your personal details, OTP or documents with agents or unknown callers
  • Dates, venue and rules can change. The latest RRC notice is final
